Passionnant

Like the other 7 books I enjoyed reading this book ...
Like the other 7 books I enjoyed reading this book perhaps more than the previous one in the series. I like that it focused more on Jamie and Claire which to me is the most enjoyable part of the series. I just can’t seem to get enough of the 2 of them and their adventures and devotion to each other. It was also good to meet Hal Grey and watch him interact with Claire and the rest of the Frasers. Hal and his brother John have really grown on me and besides being honourable they appear to be more on the fun side and with a healthy sense of humour. I am hoping to meet them again in the next book and would like to see them interact more with he Fraser Clan. When William was introduced as an adult before, I did not find him all that interesting but in this book I found his character to be more interesting. He seems to have developed a bond with Claire and I am looking forward to seeing William and Bree meet again and will be interested to see how they relate to each other as brother and sister especially given that they grew up in different worlds and can also relate to one another in that they both grew up thinking that the men who raised them were their fathers only to have all that taken away when they discover the true identity of their biological father. It will be interesting to see if Claire and Bree will play a part in bridging the gap that is currently there between Jaimie and William. And I am so glad that Bree, Roger and the wee bairns found their way back to the past. They are way more interesting when they are in the past than back in the 20th century and it’s good to see the entire family back together. I have been really wondering were Bree belongs? Does she belong in the past or the future, given that her father is from the past and her mother from the future, though she grew up in the 20th century she could have as easily been raised in the 18th century had her mother not been forced by circumstances to go back through the stones. It would be interesting to see were she ends up. If it was up to me she would end up in the past, with her engineering knowledge she could make some interesting improvements on the ridge.I decided to start reading this series after watching series 1 of the TV show 3 months ago and since I started reading the books I found it very difficult to put them down. I finished all 8 books in 3 months and would have finished them sooner without the minor inconvenience of having to go to work and having to study for an exam I was taking in between. I strongly recommend this series and I am looking forward to the next instalment. I think there is still a lot of story to tell. We have seen the 2 main characters meet up, separate and meet up again and try to settle down. We have watched Jaimie having to let go of both his biological children and then get to meet Bree, only to loose her again together with the grandchildren he had grown to love. We have also watched him have a secret child whom he could not claim, William and him coming to terms with the fact that he could never acknowledge him as his own son. Now there is a chance that they can forge a relationship going forward if William can let go of his anger and sense of betrayal and I am looking forward to see how all this unfolds. I think this story could go on forever as more characters are introduced and new and different story lines come up. It’s like a life journey. One’s life does not come to an end because one chapter of one’s life has ended, but as one chapter comes to an end another begins and I am excited to be part on the next chapter.
