Pretty decently built, not the smallest thing in the world but its expected.Have used it free out of a stream, water tasted so nice. Shame can't seem to find replacement filter on amazon.

This seems like an excellent product, I haven't used it as I bought it in case of an emergency clean water situation, but I hope it lives up to its hype.

This looked different to filters we have owned before.You can put the intake filter into any water source and using a proper pump handle, pump the filtered water into a container.The kit comes with spare cotton type filters which look like they go in the intake piece as you can pull the end off.Its easy to assemble.One tube in the top, one in the bottom.The bottom is for water IN, the top for water OUTThere is a small collection containerA clip so you can clip the outgoing tube to it or any other container.The intake tube has 2 floats that you push on to help keep the end in the water the right way up and not on the bottom where its likely to be more silty.In use....This is easy to use, my water source was a bucket I collect water from the greenhouse roof with.IT is covered but still a few mosquito larvae , its not pretty.The float was put in the bucket and the collector on the ground.You have to give it a few pumps to get the water into the main filter and then it comes through really very quickly and it is only a matter of moments before you have your clean water.It is prefectly clear and colourless.It tastes like normal clean water from the tap.This was easy to use. The only thing to remember is which is the in and which is the out as the tubes ,despite being different diameters, will fit either hole.Might have to mark that on the pump incase the instructions go AWOLI like the speed of operation, the army green colour and the clip for the container.The little container bag is a velvet square which seems a strange choice of material.The box it comes in is perfectly good enough to keep it in and more protective from crushing than the bag so we will use that.Great quality and a useful addition to the camping car as we have been stuck a couple of times for a working water tap when on our travels.Dont use with fizzy liquids, sugared liquids or sea water

I'm a Prepper and own numerous water storage and water filtering solutions. This one I am fairly happy with. The sheer amou t of water you can put through it (3000L) before changing the filter is really good. I love the fact that the filters are replaceable too.💭Amazon sell both the prefilter and the main filter as spares, albeit when both selected together the price equals a few pounds less than this actual unit.Still you don't have to replace the filters often as it suggests after six months of no use after the first use, or it's reached its shelf life of complete inactivity of 5 years or obviously once its reached its 3000L use.The whole unit is very well made. It feels like a bit of military kit.❌❗However, the black grip pad and the base pad is a bit cheap and I'm unconvinced at how durable that bit it. In the description it states it is durable anti skid rubber. It actually is basically a glued on foam pad. In my opinion it is not a good choice of material. For the high price for this filter I'd have expected some kind of vulcanised rubber grip.👍The rest of the unit cannot be faulted.❗The written instructions are poor in places. Clearly translated from another language, not very well in places I might add. They are written well enough to understand and comprehend. For example "For long time no use the handle will be stuck phenomenon, please turn handle sometimes like pic". When the instructions are written badly I tend to loose some confidence in the product. And I want to be confident in a device that turns dirty water into drinking water.❌Also the instructions lack any advice on how to change the cotton pre filter. It comes with four spares. The unit is so well made that it almost looks sealed in but you must pull out the end then delicately use a small flathead screwdriver to lift the grill out and lift the foam and swap the cotton filter. The instructions does not suggest how often to do this though.❕I also feel like the instructions have missed a beat by not providing a link or QR code to direct the owner to replacement filters.✅In use I'm really happy with it. It pumps fast and feels durable. The filter tubes stay in place securely.🚫However I would personally not place the prefilter unit into flowing water as it may come off. Get the water into a container first then filter from there.It's quite a lightweight bit of equipment, but not as light as the product description states. It states 254g Net weight.❌❗However my scales measure 342g, as shown in my picture. Still light but almost 100g more than advertised.✅I love the addition of the survival Compass. I good touch.😑I'm not a fan of the velvet like storage bag. It's like an oversized jewellery storage bag. This equipment needs something a bit more robust and military looking for adventures. But the bag if fine for storing it at home whilst not in use.

Ich kenne den Filter bereits durch einen Bekannten von mir,mit selbem Hobby. Autarke Trekkingtouren und Overnighter.Er hat ihn mir empfohlen, als upgrade für meinen Sawyer Mini. Der Sawyer ist schon gut,vor allem wenn das Gepäck leicht sein muss und die Trinkwasserversorgung größtenteils ohne Filter gesichert werden kann. Notfallfilter halt.Dieser Filter hier ist dagegen schwerer. Nach Waage 357gramm inkl all bei mir. Dafür hat er aber mehrere Vorzüge. Er kann besser filtern. In diesem purewell ist bspw. Im Aussenfilter bereits ein Baumwoll und ein Aktivkohlefilter vorhanden. Beim Sawyer musste ich immer mit einem Baumwolltuch vorher schon das Wasser vor grober Verschmutzung reinigen. Einen Kohlefilter, der den Geschmack des wassers verbessert und teilweise Schwermetalle und anderes filtern kann,hat der Sawyer gar nicht. Der Purewell hat noch einen zweiten Kohlefilter und dann noch einen Filter. Dieser letzte Filter kann noch deutlich kleinere Verunreinigungen Filtern,als der Hauptfilter des Sawyer.Somit ist der Purewell also ein Filter, den man durchaus auch ohne Notfall mal 2-3Tage zur Trinkwasserversorgung nutzen kann,weil das Wasser besser schmeckt und er mehr Schadstoffe binden kann. Der Filter ersetzt aber nicht,sich trotzdem an alle bekannten Sicherheitsvorgaben zu halten und vorsichtig zu sein bei Oberflächenwasser. Das sollte man beachten,wenn man vor allem allein auf Tour ist.Die Filterleistung kann ich natürlich nicht nachmessen. Ich vertrau da der Erfahrung meines Bekannten und was ich bei gemeinamen Touren selbst gesehen habe mit dem Filter. Alle Vorsichtsmaßnahmen zum Thema Trinkwasser vorausgesetzt ,hatte er bisher nie gesundheitliche Probleme und auchich fand immef,dass das gefilterte Wasser sehr gut schmeckt.Nun zum Filter. Sauber verpackt,macht einen seriösen Eindruck. Die Pumpe sollte mit bedacht bedient werden. Sie ist nicht ultra robust . Insgesamt lässt sich der Filter Kompakt verstauen. Aber. Mich stört das an den Siliklnschläuchen diverser Schmutz fast wie von einem Magnet angezogen wird. Nächster Punkt. Die Anleitung ist nicht sehr gut übersetzt und wer keinerlei Ahnung von der Materia hat, könnte leicht überfordert sein,wie Zusammenbau,Filterwechsel und Reinigung vonstatten geht. Wie der Baumwollfilter,von dem 4 Ersatzfilter mitgeliefert werden, ausgetauscht wird, wird gleich gar nicht erwähnt. Macht keinen vertrauenserweckenden Eindruck bei sowas wichtigem wie ein Trinkwasserfilter, wenn man nur durch ausprobieren voran kommt. Man weiss dann trotzdem nie, ob man es auch genau richtig gemacht hat und der Filter auch richtig Filtert.Dann der Transportbeutel. Platz hat da alles drin. Aber der Vorfilter und dessen Schmuddelschlauch muss in den selben Beutel wie der Schlauch, wo das saubere Wasser rauskommen soll. Ist also Vorfilter und Schlauch durch die wasserquelle kontaminiert, wird im Beutel auch der Frischwasserschlauch damit kontaminiert und dann kann man sich das Filtern auch gleich sparen. Man muss sich also selbst was einfallen lassen, wie man beide Schläuche so transportiert, das sie nicht in Kontakt kommen.Wegen dieser fehlenden Transportlösung, der unvollständigen Beschreibung, des deutlich höher als angegebenen Gewichts kann ich nur 4 Sterne empfehlen . Gleichzeitig fühle ichmich mit diesem Filter aber auch sicherer als mit meinem Sawyer, und würde ihn, wen das Mehrgewicht nicht stört,jedem eher empfehlen als den Sawyer. Der Sawyer ist nicht schlecht deswegen und wird immer als Notfalloption in meinem All-Day-Rucksack bleiben. Aber bei autarken Mehrtagestouren werde ich künftig den Purewell einpacken.Achja. Ein wenig gerissen hat es mich schon,als ich gerade gesehen habe, das ein Ersatzfilter 28 Euro kostet!!Das ist auch deswegen von Belang, da der Filter zwar ordentliche 3000Liter schaffen würde, bis er getauscht werden muss . Aber leider schränkt der Hersteller auch noch ein, das auch nach einmaliger Nutzung der Filter nach 6Mknaten getauscht werden soll, auch wenn 3000 Liter nicht erreicht sind. Und auch vollkommen unbenutzt ist der Filter nicht unendlich haltbar,laut Hersteller, sondern hat eine maximale Lagerungszeit von 5 Jahren angegeben. Das ist für all jene wichtig, die den Filter als Krisenvorsorge,für einen blackout oder ein backout-bag bunkern wollen. Er muss dann auch da ausgetauscht werden, bzw. Die Funktionalität ist halt nicht mehr sicher.Bei mir spielt das keine Rolle, da der Filter bei mir quasi so gut wie immer eingesetzt wird.

Ich bin voll kommen zufrieden mit den Wasserfilter. Er reinigt das Wasser wirklich, das hätte ich nicht gedacht! Wie viele Backtrieren noch im Wasser sind kann ich nicht nachvollziehen, da ich diese technischen Möglichkeiten nicht habe, aber das Wasser wird sauber und ist trinkbar. Der Aufbau ist auch nicht kompleziert.Ich hab es größtenteils, für meinen Notfall Rucksack, falls dich mal irgendwas passiert...

Ich weiß nicht! Ich bekomme kein Wasser gefiltert. Für mich kommt einfach zu wenig Wasser durch den Filter.

Schade, dass man keine CO2 Kartusche anschließen kann. Aber sonst gibt's nix zu meckern 👍
