I'm not sure what a sweep hand is. If you are referring to a second hand, yes, it has that. Ahh, I looked it up. It does have a second hand but it stops on each second and the clock emits a slightly audible tick or click. It does not sweep around the clock silently or smoothly. Hope this helps.
