Had to give this a review after using it for a long time now. I've used this stuff for several video cards heatsinks on voltage regulators and ram chips. When you take heatsinks off, often times the thermal pads are no good and can't be reused, and it's difficult to see exactly how much gap you need to fill in, leaving you the guesswork on what thermal pads to buy for replacement. With this stuff there is no guesswork, it squishes down easily filling in the gaps between the parts without force and without preventing good gpu to heatsink contact. Thermal pads that are too think can in some cases prevent good gpu to heatsink contact then your card overheats are runs too hot. This stuff last for a long time, and after awhile it literally becomes a thermal pad, and when redone comes right off with ease. It is kinda hard to spread out evenly, easy to use too much but it works great. I would highly recommend this paste if your thermal pads went toast. Imo, it's just as good if not better than thermal pads.

I watched a repair video on Youtube regarding the 2009-2011 27 inch iMac Graphics Card Oven Bake and followed everything exactly, including the cleaning of the grease and pads on the GPU. Then I baked my two cards (one was from iFixit.com which started to fail) and the other is the original. I covered the refurbished iFixit GPU and other parts of the board with the thermal paste and pad set from Laboratory Produced by Computer Systems Laboratories , and I couldn't be more blunt than "it worked." It's only been 6 days since re-installation, but I can say that the computer is working properly. The next step is replacing the HD with an SSD. Fantastic.

This is what MSI uses on their GE75 Raider 17.3" Gaming Laptop. For this laptop or any other laptop where MSI uses K5 PRO Viscous Thermal Paste for Thermal Pad replacement, you have to use this because they didn't use thermal pads in the first place. Removing the old K5 Pro and putting on the new one on took about 2 hours. It's not a paste you can wipe off. It's more like removing taffy-like whip cream. It's hard to describe, but it's not messy like thermal compound. I also recommend you wear gloves.The reason you can't use thermal pads is you don't know the exact size to use for each chip, chokes, and VRMs around the CPU and GPU. It's not a "one-size fits all" because they each require a different size. If you use the incorrect size, the components will overheat and burn itself out or prevent the CPU and GPU from making contact with the heatsink and causing instability problems. You have to spend countless hours screwing on the heatsink and removing it to see if your thermal paste has spread out and each component with the thermal pad is making contact with the heatsink. This is why the manufacturer chose to use this instead of thermal pads.

Used to getting thermal pads and cutting them, I was kind of skeptic about this product, but It was an actual improvement. The small wooden applicator it brought made the application a bit tedious, but using the smoother plastic one I had around compensated for this. Thanks to its state, you can apply it to any shape and size you need to, without having to cut a pad to a perfect fit (especially when having to measure thickness of pads needed). This is definitively the buy-one-apply-to-anything solution. Thermals were also on par with other pads I had used before.Tip: this is for memory and other small chips, not for CPU or GPU (for those, you actually need thermal paste)... I've seen too many making that mistake and then blaming the product for their lack of knowledge. With that said, plaster away to your thermals content!
