how long is the cord?

Don't buy... this thing will drive you insane regardless of cord length.

How do you turn off the annoying beep sound? I would like to purchase the product, but the reviews have me very concerned about the sound.

I have had this model for a couple of years and I like it. Yes, the beep is louder than the older model it replaced, but it's no big deal to me. I was worried about it too after reading the reviews. I don't know of any way to disable it, but don't think that it is necessary to do so..

Does it come with mounting brackets ?

No sure, I was replacing an existing unit. I would lean towards yes, but no certain as my handy man did it for me.
