Shoyeido's City of Culture Incense, Set of 10 Coils - Muro-Machi

Don’t be put off by the price. Not only is this a long lasting product, but the rich, deep, complex fragrance is so distinct from what you could expect from typical incense. The difference is immediately apparent, even from the less expensive but still good products from the same company. There is no cloying, no harshness – just that elevated Shoyeido quality.

Wow, this is like caramel coated agarwood. Such a smooth sweet first note that really has a caramel and even a butterscotch to it that is followed immediately by a very soft and mild aloeswood. This burns so smoothly I have a hard time not sticking my nose over the coil and sniffing the smoke directly. Spending time with this, I think it's not getting cloying but rather getting more delicious, which is the opposite of what most sweet does for me.
