Thought this came with a plug. Maybe I misread. Still came quickly and worked fine

Works as advertised
This was to replace one on my security system that failed after about 5 years. This one set up and works perfectly.

basic functions, works fine as a secondary keypad
I didn't realize that the AC adapter wasn't included with this unit. It was a little frustrating after it arrived, because I would sync it up to my Honeywell L5210; but the power wouldn't stay one long enough with just the batteries to be useful. This unit does not have the voice alerts, it only beeps.

2 in a row Defective
2 of these in a row were defective. The display on both never showed anything. Totally blank. The first one would at least beep when you pushed a key, but the 2nd wouldn't even do that. The first I had the A/C adapter I bought with the keypad. For the 2nd I used only batteries. They ship batteries with it. When those didn't work I opened a brand new pack with the same results. Not sure if there's any other keypads that will work with the Lynx 7000 system....

Great as long as it's powered via the power supply (which you have to purchase separately)
Very good keypad in general, but if you use it while powered by the batteries, it goes to sleep and you cannot see the alarm status unless you wake it up. I have this in our MBR and wanted to be able to glance at it without getting out of bed to see if we remembered to arm the system or not. Just seems like a really dumb design decision, was probably done to conserve the batteries. If you install it with a power supply, it works as one would expect. I bought Honeywell K0991 adapter and installed it inside the wall so there isn't an unsightly power supply wire running down the wall to an outlet. As far as I know, there is no wireless alternative available that'll work with my Honeywell L7000 alarm system. The good news is that the wireless range seems adequate. I have a repeater downstairs about 40' as the crow flies, going through multiple walls, and the keypad has worked without problems. If your alarm console is further than that from where you want to install the keypad, you might have connectivity issues. Consider adding a repeater if you run into that problem. Or, put in a hard-wired keypad.
