Good for sailboat,RV, tiny home, or minimalist.
It is very hard to know how to rate this Sarge Chef knife. I feel it is too expensive considering the price versus quality, yet again a folding chefs knife has a very small niche and so perhaps i should be thankfull this knife exists at all. This blade is a perfect kitchen solution for those who live in an RV or on a sailboat, tiny home etc.As a minimalist, i was looking for a way to downsize my kitchen knives and this seems to fit the billl, this sarge knife now does the work of 3 knives in my kitchen. I love that the folding feature and pouch allow me to put it ANYWHERE and i never need to worry about safety nor cleanliness.Pros:1. Comes with a nice leather pouch/with belt loop thats well made.2. Made in Italy from a knife making company.3.not made in China.4.the lock mechanism is strong and sturdy- no danger of the blade closing by accident.5. Works great in the kitchen, does all the tasks of a proper chefs knife “almost” as well as a proper chefs knife.6. Blade is held firmly, there is no wobble to it.7. This knife has Heft. The weight feels a bit like a bowie knife and aids in cutting..-Basicaly: if a high quality bushcraft knife and a high quality chef knife had a baby of average qualities.... this would be the knife.Cons:1.the heel of the knife is a little shallower than it ought to be, it is functional but not as efficient as a deeper heel would yeild.2. Poor quality control. The wood of my hilt was clearly damged during manufacture. Its as if the drill press was dragged across the wood when drilling the rivet hole. The company still sold the knife anyway!!! They could have at least tried to cheat and used wood filler, but they did not. This is just outright unforgivable for a $50 knife! (Photo included)In conclusion:I do NOT recommend the company Sarge Knives, but i DO reccomend this knife as the only option amongst a plethora of $20 cheap chinese offerings avaliable on amazon.

Just received the knife, first thing I noticed was the right side handle had a large gap between the frame and grip panel.Second thing was it's made in China, not Italy, as reported buy another review.Third thing is the blade is very thin, and at the pivot point it's really narrow, and it's so dull it won't cut paper.I will throw it in the junk drawer and chalk it up to lesson learned.
