Pattern and Design Coloring Book (Jenean Morrison Adult Coloring Books)

This is a really great coloring book!This is a really great book for someone who is just starting their journey into the realm of adult coloring (although kids could totally color in this book as well!). Jenean has a little of everything. There are easy designs. There are very intricate designs. There are some paisleys. There are some mandalas. There are geometric designs. Every single one is well drawn and are very enjoyable to color.It has been said before, but worth saying again: The designs are all on one side of the page so marker users don't have to worry about ruining a picture on the other side. This is never a problem for me as I like to color on cardstock anyway, but it is a great feature. I like using ultra fine Sharpies or Bic Mark Its, but I'm sure that other markers or colored pencils would do just fine as well.I totally recommend giving this book a try!

I bought this as a gift for a friend who suffers from anxiety and was going through a rough time. Her doctor recommended she take up an activity that would help her release nervous energy such as knitting. She's not much of a knitter, so I ordered this coloring book for her to try along with a big box of thin tip Crayola markers.She really liked this book. The illustrations are mostly abstract, so you don't have to worry about having the "right" colors or messing up. The patterns are varied enough to keep things interesting. We spent some time together coloring, and it did seem to be a very relaxing activity, and was nice to do while listening to the radio.Overall, a well done book. I would recommend it.

Most of the designs are fun and challenging to color, but it's difficult to figure out how to best color some of the more complicated designs that are more three dimensional (vs. two dimensional). Overall, the book still provides a way to do something satisfying (if you like coloring) while watching TV, waiting, or doing something mindless at the same time.

I've collected and colored in a lot of the 'grown-up' coloring books. This one is exceptional. The shapes are wonderful, the line weight(s) are great. The paper is great quality, nice and white to keep colors vivid. Designs range from fairly basic to very intricate. There are several in here which will take some serious time to complete.Designs themselves have flowers, squares, angular, rounded, kaleidoscopic patterns. All well thought out. This book reminds me of my Ruth Heller books, and that is a compliment-and-a-half, believe me.After all of these important features, the best one I've left for last -THE PAGES ARE ONE-SIDED!!!!!!!!!!! Jenean, I'm a marker person, and you are my hero. I weep at the altar of your amazingness and eagerly await my next book of yours!50 designs + 1 sided pages = happy marker peoples! :)

I love this coloring book! I love the intricate patterns and how fun it is to color. The pages are thick enough that with standard crayola crayons, colored pencils and markers you have no problem at all with bleed through. I have used my COPIC art markers in this book as well and I usually put a sheet of copy paper under it as there is a little bit of bleed through with these alcohol based markers. All in all, love this book!

Patterns are fun but the paper doesn't hold up to Crayola markers. First page I tried to do, marker bled through to the next page so that one is going to be a problem to color. This book would probably be fine with colored pencils or crayons, but the pages are not heavy enough for markers :(

I've admired Jenean Morrison's art for awhile.All so full of whimsy, mystery, love and style.This book is so obviously a labor of love for her too...she really packs in the fun with her stylish designs.I've colored a couple pages with my kids, using markers, colored pencils and crayons but I've saved a few of my favorites just for me.Sitting with my coffee, coloring in the gorgeous designs, letting my mind wander... it's almost like meditating.

I first used this book in my classroom. Early finishers were allowed to work on one page. It wasn't long before I began to incorporate the designs into art as well as math lessons. Along the way, I found that students that it was a great tool for exploring color color theory and symmetry. The artist who designed it also has a mandala book. My students and I found lots of inspiration with it on how to create our own mandalas. A wonderful math lesson was created by another teacher using the designs to explore fractions. I can't say enough about how I love Jenean Morrison's books. I continue to use them as a nursing student. They help me manage my own anxiety.

Some patterns are a joke really. I do not understand who would like to color THOSE. The quality of paper is not perfect

This was the first Jenean Morrison book I bought, and I really do like it. I’ve bought more of hers now. Great patterns all in the theme, I like almost all of them. Decent paper - just wish it was perforated to make it easy to tear out, as I always remove the page as it’s easier to colour. Yep, go ahead, get one.

I am currently coloring in this book (amongst others!! lol!!) and really enjoy the brightness of my Bic markers on the paper. The designs are too cool and I am really enjoying coloring. The paper is pure white though a bit thin but the contrast of the markers is good. Haven't used pencil colors yet on this. Markers do bleed through the paper as they warn initially though sadly I didn't notice on one and it bled .. boo hoo .. :'( ... we live and learn ... good book, good product, great service from Amazon ... Thnx Amazon! :)

Pensei que as folhas tivessem gramatura maior que a da versão nacional, mas também são parecidas com sulfite. Então vale a pena comprar a versão nacional que tem melhor preço. Os desenhos são muito bonitos para quem gosta de padrões, apesar de existirem vários sites que ensinam a desenhar padrões tão bonitos quanto
