Awesome lightweight, simple design
This bag is fantastic. Very minimalist and water resistant construction, perfect for city life as a cyclist. The laptop pocket is perfectly sized for a Macbook.

Quality commuter pack
I'm a huge fan of Chrome's products - I own several of their other bags, and everything I've bought from the brand has been consistently high quality. Their products are cleverly designed with bike commuters' needs in mind, and this backpack is no exception. It's lightweight and comfortable to wear, while also being completely water-resistant and weatherproof as well as quite stylish. It's a perfect marriage of sleek urban fashion and function. The loops and logo on the outer facing part of the backpack are reflective to provide higher visibility in car headlights, and they also work to hold a chain or U-lock for your bike, or anything you might want to clip on with a carabiner. The backpack straps are padded and comfortable, even carrying a full load, and they clip securely around your body with an optional sturdy cross-body clasp. The main compartment of the backpack is quite roomy and contains a padded laptop sleeve that will hold up to a 15" laptop, along with several other smaller organizer pockets and a D-ring for keys or other essentials. The tall, slim shape of this pack is ideal if you're carrying a laptop or tablet along with books, notebooks or documents - but it may not be the ideal bag if you're planning on carrying anything bulkier. It will comfortably hold a pair of shoes, but it wouldn't be a good choice for something like food delivery or groceries due to its slim profile. It comes backed by a lifetime warranty, just like all of Chrome's other products, which gives me a good deal of confidence in their build quality.

Sturdy and light, but needs a pocket
This is my second Chrome backpack after my first gave out after four years of daily use. This one is just as sturdy as the original, but I miss the zippered outside pocket for keys and knickknacks that my old one had. Still, I would recommend this backpack to a friend.

Completely waterproof, large interior and a space for a computer
This is a large 20l pack with a rolltop opening, which is somewhat unique since it doesn't use zippers to close. It has 2 latches that attach on the sides after rolling it down and those are adjustable depending on how much stuff you cram in there. There's a special spot to hold and protect a laptop and plenty of room for books, clothes, food, etc. There's a carry handle on top and a buckle on the front which is nice if using for cycling to keep it in place. The shoulder straps are comfortable and everything is good quality. This type of bag does much better in the rain than standard backpacks and it's basically a dry bag when it's rolled closed. You could take this on a boat and there is very little chance of the contents getting wet if the top is latched down. I like the reflecting loops on the back which can also be used to attach carabiners to hold more stuff if you are using this for hiking. The bag has a clean, simple design overall and I like it a lot more than I was expecting. Chrome is a reputable brand and this is the nicest rolltop backpack I've seen.

Great quality - but lacks organization
Teacher here. I'm picky about my backpacks. I need access to my chromebook, graded papers, personal items, etc. without digging for hours on end or unloading the whole bag. This chrome bag is super comfortable, watertight, but is essentially a drybag with straps. It is NOT what I needed for school as there is zero organization inside. I have been using this on bike rides, and shortly will be using it for kayaking... but it's not so great for those of us that want handy access to other necessities.

seems more compact. 20 liter is too large

Good improvements over the previous generation
This bag replaces the previous generation of the Urban Ex bag with a couple of differences. There is no longer a top pocket in the back, which is kind of a bummer. The new version has no external pockets, which makes it more waterproof, BUT it was a very convenient pocket. There are no longer any side handles built into the bag which were great for carrying and attaching other pouches/items to. The magnetic closure, handles and straps are all the same. The main difference on the inside is where the 2.0 is much better. Internal pocket is no to the back and much more padded than the previous one. With the pocket on the back, the bag is not constantly falling over. The tablet and more fragile item in the pocket are much more likely to be protected in a fall or the bag getting thrown around with the padded pocket in the back. The pocket is much easier to access as well.Comfort is good overall but it's not a bag you want to overload. It would be nice to see a waist strap for a little more stability when riding. So if you are looking for a fairly minimalist bag with the priority being waterproofness and durability, this is the bag. I got this bag as a replacement for one a gave a friend who needed a waterproof bag and overall its a great bag for security in terrible weather.

sleek, roomy, weather-resistant, sturdy backpack
This backpack is rated at 20 liters, but it seems roomier than that. Maybe that is because this backpack doesn't have lots of little pockets. There is only 1 big compartment and a padded laptop pocket in the bottom of that compartment. One big compartment gives me a lot of flexibility to haul different sized items, especially when I'm bicycling. The backpack is narrow enough to be very stable when I'm bicycling. Contoured padded shoulder straps and a chest harness make the backpack even more stable and comfortable. I love the rolltop closure which is sturdier and more rain-resistant than a zipper. The rolltop also allows me to adjust the height of the backpack, especially when I want to carry a taller item (like a musical instrument). Chrome is a top quality bike messenger brand that is very well designed and built. Their products are expensive, but I think they are worth the price if you use them daily.
