Excellent heater.
I got this heater in October of 2016 but couldn't get anyone to install it for me until about a month ago. I purchased the installation from Amazon for around $700 but that did not cover the electrical so I cancelled. A company wanted $1800 to just do the wiring, they came down to $1000 but by this time I did not want to deal with them anymore, finally combined it with additional electrical work in my house and got another company to do the wiring and plumbing for $1200 plus all the other electrical work. So far it works great, the old 50 gallon heater I had had a huge problem with water temperature change every time a toilet was flushed or any other water demand was put on when someone was on the shower. Called a plumbing company for that but for some reason they did not really want to install a tank less heater, they kept on pushing me for another tanked heater, I am done with keeping 50 gallons of hot water in my garage at all times taking up space. This little guy heats up the water fast and when a toilet is flushed I can barely feel a temperature change. My only concern is that it only has a one year warranty and several people have told me that tank less heaters tend to fail often. My city has soft water so I am not too concerned about that but I may end up putting a filter in the line, it is recommended by the manufacturer. By the way, I installed it in a 3 bedroom to bathroom house in south Florida. I live alone but have guests often and so far this little guy has no problems keeping up with all the water demands. If it proves to be reliable it is a great product.

and this leaves us very disappointed. The unit is only serving the kitchen sink ...
We are located in Virginia, 30 miles south of Washington D.C. and we purchased the IHEAT 3.5 GPM, 16 kw, S-60 water heater in September of 2017. We had looked a number of reviews of this and other units, and selected this model based on capacity and electrical requirements. It was installed in October according to all manufacturer requirements, including the input filter and pressure relief valve. But unfortunately, it has not performed as specified, and this leaves us very disappointed. The unit is only serving the kitchen sink and dishwasher, and is located one floor below and about 10 feet away from the sink (about a total of 13 feet of 1/2 inch copper pipe). It takes about 40 seconds to get hot water, and then it goes cold again after about another minute. It then takes another 40 seconds to get hot again, and sometimes will go cold again after a few minutes of operation. And this happens without the dishwasher running, so it is only feeding our kitchen faucet, rated at 1.8 GPM. We will also contact the manufacturer after the holidays before we do another review.

Meant for boats
Their website states that the S series is meant to be used in boats. M series is meant for home. I didn’t visit their site until after we installed ours and suffered through cold showers

iHeat 3.5 GPM Electric Tankless Water Heater
Excellent product, works great, followed the directions for installation using the correct wire size and breaker on a separate circuit. Set the max temperature of the water I am using at the tank (reading the degrees digitally while pressing the up or down buttons) and it takes about 15 seconds to get to the temperature with outside temps in the 30's and 40's (above grade house) and it maintains the correct temp while in use. With an average size family this unit will save you money right away. It will only use electricity when in use, instead of when using a tank water heater that maintains the water temp constantly heating up several times a day or more.

Lasted 1 year.
It was a fantastic water heater while it lasted.I bought the extra protection plan along with it, low and behold when the heater went out and I needed a replacement, they would not replace it. I ended up going to lowe’s and bought a water heater there.
