Prayers and Promises for My Little Girl

I use this book to give as a gift to new mothers on their first baby born.

I think the strength of this book is the categories of prayers (Purity, Wisdom, etc.). For the most part, I will pray them over my daughter at bedtime though there have been a few times I've altered the prayer on the fly to better fit the theology we're trying to impart to her, especially at an early age (she's currently 4). Case in point, the other night I was reading a Prayer for My Daughter's Protection (or something to that effect; I don't have the book here with me) and I paused at one point because the prayer in the book petitioned the Lord to not allow harm to come to her. I don't want to impart a theology of avoidance of suffering to my daughter, but rather a theology of embracing suffering that glorifies God and purifies us for His glory and our good so I altered it just slightly to that end.Not a deal breaker (and probably not a deal at all for most people), but we're trying very early to give both our kids a big view of God and a biblical understanding of things like suffering (e.g., has God not answered this prayer for the majority of Christians around the world currently being persecuted, tortured and killed for their faith? Hardly.)In short, I appreciate the categories used in the book to get me thinking, as a parent, of how to pray for my kids and what things to have "on my radar" as they continue to grow. I would definitely recommend it to friends and family!

Very sweet prayer book and gorgeous artwork on each page. Both my daughter and I love to look at the pictures and read the sweet prayers. Perfect for any parent/daughter.

This book is good because I use it for our nightly devotionals with our 4-yr. old daughter Rosy Love. She loves the paintings inside of the little girls, which are beautiful artwork. These are prayers I speak out loudly as she looks at the beautiful paintings inside the book that fill an entire page, while the prayers with the Word of God in them are on the opposite page, so this is neat. I love Stormie, because she loves the absolute freeing truth of God and I knew this book would be good for my little girl whom we adore. It is a powerful way to speak God's truth and power into your little girl's life.Hannah Nowlin.

Love and adore this book. I bought it years ago for my daughter, who is now 13 years old. Still use it today! Buy it for everyone I know having a daughter.

Every little girl should have this book! The message and prayers are wonderful, and the art is true perfection

I received this book in anticipation of my little girl and was quite impressed with the literary content of the book. I was, however, disappointed at the graphics chosen. I bought this anticipating bedtime readings but found that the illustrations of the little girls throughout the book were overwhelmingly of Caucasian descent and we are of minority origin.Considering that this book was written in the early 21st century where globalization is a reality, I would have preferred to see that the illustrations reflected the vast diversity of ethnic backgrounds with which our kids are likely to come in contact either face to face or via social media. Additionally, the page illustrations lacked the contemporary relatability of the cover illustration.I considered buying this book for several of my friends who are new mothers but many of them are also of non-dominant ethnicities so I would probably not be buying this book for them. Again, the literary content is priceless but the graphics need revision.

Excellent love this little prayer book. Great for parents or grandparents who want to cover their little ones in prayer.

Lovely book for my granddaughter. I gave this book as a Easter present to my daughter and son in law to read with her at bed time. They love it.
