Mimi (La bouche de Jean-Pierre)

A sad story of a little girl forced to live with an Aunt who clearly does not even like her. The aging aunt desperate to maintain the attention of a younger man is oblivious and uncaring when he turns his attentions to the little girl. In the midst of all this Mimi wanders the bleak industrial landscape like a ghost looking for love and attention but never getting it.

Excellent just as described

Interesting, great performance by the actress.

The viewer is led to believe that this movie has very "interesting" content. Aside from one brief "cameltoe" scene, this movie offers nothing except a vague lesson on watching out for yourself and your kids. I guess that it was only 52 minutes long was a small blessing.

Child molestation can create such cinematic tension, as we've seen in "Happiness" or "Cape Fear". In "Mimi", director Lucile Hadzihalilovic, Gaspar Noe's creative partner for many years (she collaborated with Noe with "Enter the Void" and produced and edited "I Stand Alone"), has made a horror story out of something that probably occurs behind closed doors on a daily basis. Mimi is a little girl who has to live with her aunt and her sleazy boyfriend. The boyfriend obviously has a crush on her. This is the whole movie. And Lucile milks every Hitchockian inch out of every frame and decibel of sound and the result of bravado filmmaking. She has also directed another film, "Innocence" and I hope continues to bring her vision to many more films. She is a voice we need in cinema.

Not as intense as I expected but definitely does not shy away from subject matter

This is not a good movie.The quality of the pictures is not good and the dvd skip a lot.The story is about a girl rapped by here uncle.Its the movie La bouche de Jean-Pierre rename Mimi.
