The Perfect You: God's Invitation to Live from the Heart

A must read!
I grew up in an IFB church and school. I was taught God was love but to have that love we had to do a long list of things. Church was supreme. A few years ago I left my IFB roots after some sexual abuse within the church was denied and concealed. Those events and the hypocrisy I had witnessed in the church really sent me questioning if God was even real. I initially found twisted s ruptured and from there read this book. This book opened my eyes to all the extra stuff I never had to do. I remember a pastor once saying you may go to hell for a sin you didn’t even know you commuted or forgot about. I was always hyper focused on if I had sinned scared I may go to hell on accident. If you grew up in a church culture that preached all the should do’s this book is a must! I am realizing that even in my darkest moment Hod still sees me and loves me! He sees the blood over my sins.

Such a blessing!!!
I could not put this book down. It was such a breath of fresh air. I will read it, again and again, to keep on track. It's based on lots of scripture, and the author explains each of the issues we go through mentally when contemplating God's grace.I tend to say what about this and what if I do that again and again...? He answered all the what-ifs.Also, I'm happy I bought the Audible narration so I could read and listen. I would just back it up and listen again to the parts that needed to sink in more. That helped me break through some of my questions and old beliefs. Great voice also, which helps me listen along. You will not regret getting this book—the author, a blessing, was able to put it all together for me.I'm so grateful because I almost didn't buy it. It's not how I was raised, even though always a Christian. The Holy Spirit kept prompting me to keep reading. I'm glad I listened to Him. A blessing I almost missed, which is mind-blowing that the enemy almost convinced me not to read something so good that has given me so much peace and hope. After the epilogue, there is a study guide with a separate scripture guide. The audible narration skipped right over it. I only noticed it when I went back to check out the back of the book. You don't want to miss that!Thank you for this book!!!

THIS BOOK WILL MAKE YOU HAPPY! Like to so much I ordered a bunch more to give to friends
Liked it so much, I ordered a bunch more to give to friends, and then found a friend who independently came to the same decision and is doing the same! How many books can you say that about? GET THIS BOOK! You'll realize what the gospel really means. You are free from the curse of the law. You are free from judgment. Sound too good to be true? It's all over the Bible. It's just often misinterpreted by those who are well-meaning but misinformed and under the curse of the law. Learn the difference between what I call "Churchianity" which is rooted in pride and self-righteousness VS being free, resting in His righteousness, and enjoying the life God earned for you. Churchianity (self-righteousness) is pervasive. I was in church for 30 plus years, a deacon, a youth pastor, board member, all before I learned what the Bible calls the gospel of grace. This book lays out very well. It's not a 'self-help book' where you try to work hard to improve. It's a 'realize what God already did for you' so you will rest in His finished work and as a result, His good work will flow through you much better.

The Gospel!
.Unfortunately, that’s a newsflash in the Christian world today. Most Christian teaching starts with the premise that you want to sin, but you shouldn’t. You want to sin, but you’re not supposed to. Ultimately, this can lead you to a fake-it-until-you-make-it theology: You’re essentially sinful, but you better not sin. Your heart is wicked, but don’t you do anything wicked!I am extremely bias as I am a huge fan of Andrew Farley, he has been a tremendous blessing in my life. Farley makes the Gospel so simple; it is not about your commitment to Jesus but His commitment to you.The Gospel is not about what you have to muster up, but what Christ has done FOR YOU, and THROUGH you... God is not mad at you.. He is mad about you, His prized possession, His forever, held & treasured. Dump dead religion and embrace the person of Jesus Christ who is crazy in love with you.Highly recommended, this is his best book he ever wrote..then again he does not have a bad book ever published.Read it!Be set free from legalism and embrace the Gospel!

The best biblical interpretation I've read of what God has done in us as believers
I like many believers struggled with whether or not I can accept and follow any desires in my heart. We are told the heart is deceitful above all things. I thought I had to squash all the desires of my heart after becoming a believer and live totally what I thought was detached from my desires and strive to only follow the idea of a holy life. This book helped me realize the desires of my NEW heart have the desires of God inside! That I can be me, my personality, and desires, and still express Jesus at the same time. That I am righteous, period, because of Jesus. It isn't based on trying to be perfect. It's not about performance. God not only loves me but also likes me. What makes me unique. And he wants me not to live from a place of needing to keep beating myself down, but to live from the new heart he has given me. Living from his love inside my new heart, not living from external pressures.

So releasing!
What a wonderful book, so releasing. This is good news which is worth sharing that can't be kept to yourself. How have we been so duped over the years to end up with a performance gospel, when really we respond to how we are loved, that's what defines our walk. Thanks Father!

Fantastic, I love all Andrew Farleys books, awesome teaching on who we are in Christ, we can live from the heart. It’s so liberating to know we aren’t dirty worms, God doesn’t look at us through Jesus Goggles, we are completely forgiven past present and future of our sins by the blood, we are new creations in Christ and we can live from the perfect you. Can’t speak high enough of this book.
