A Great Reminder
I first read George Clason's "The Richest Man in Babylon" about 15 years ago. The most important takeaway is to save and invest 10% of every paycheck you receive, never spending that principal. I've applied Clason's system sporadically over the years, but reading Mitch Horowitz's excellent summary inspired me to rededicate myself to this practice.Mitch adds some very helpful updates to Clason's exhortations, such as investing in index funds rather than trying to beat the market (which is the best stock investing advice there is--Warren Buffett will tell you the same). And he laments the current state of our health insurance system, which makes following Clason's advice challenging for most of us and impossible for some.Readers of both this guide and the original book should expect general principles--not details about the stock market, real estate, insurance, etc.All of Mitch Horowitz's books are worth reading. My favorite is "The Miracle of a Definite Chief Aim."
