Power Out? These Knew Before I Did
These Auto-On LED rechargeable flashlights seriously impressed me during our last power outage. Automatic Turn-On – They lit up the second the power went out. Honestly, that’s how I realized we lost power. No fumbling in the dark. Bright & Versatile – Bright enough to use as a handheld flashlight or just leave plugged into outlets around the house for emergency room lighting. Always Ready – They charge while plugged in, so they’re constantly ready to auto-activate during an outage. Great Emergency Backup – Simple, reliable, and one less thing to scramble for when the lights go out. Such a smart little safety upgrade. Definitely one of those “glad I had it when I needed it” items.

Must have for safety and security during power outages
Highly recommend! This is my second order of these to add more to my own home and give a couple out as gifts. These lights are great! Place them in each room or at least the main rooms you are frequently in. They should be plugged into a power source that is exposed so when the power goes out it provides the most light possible. While there is power to the light it is off and charging but as soon as the power goes off it turns on automatically providing light in the room it is plugged in. Added tip, if possible, situate the flashlight to point towards the ceiling. The light will reflect off the ceiling magnifying the amount of light it provides. If you have trip hazards such as a change in floor levels or staircase I would highly recommend putting one at each of those. If the power outage catches you off guard you will not have to stumble around in the dark looking for a light source. Simply walk to the nearest plugged in unit and unplug it to have a fully charged flashlight. My first units I put in the main bedroom, living room, kitchen, the bottom of the stairs to the basement, and top of the stairs to the second floor. This setup insured I was never too far away from a light source no matter where I was in the house and if I was on the stairs I could navigate them safely. With these additional units I will place them in more bedrooms on the main floor and then spread the rest out evenly in the basement and second floor. Once the power comes back on remember to return the unit back to the same plug so that you know where you need to go the next time you need it. I have not had a power outage that outlasted these flashlights but I also do not use these as my main flashlights. I have these to provide me with emergency lighting during the first few minutes of a power outage. I rarely unplug them but instead leave them in place lighting my house so I can retrieve lanterns, candles, flashlights if I need them.

Works very well and they are a good value
I bought these to ensure that we have some type of emergency lighting in the event of power outages. I decided to try these out after having so many failures with the rechargeable LED bulbs that we had placed throughout our house. Those bulbs seem to be short lived, with either the battery not holding charge or the bulb itself going bad. We've also had a number of instances where the bulbs do not light up when power is out. These little flashlights are actually smaller than I envisioned, which makes me happy. They plug into the outlet and as long as you ensure that the switch is in the 'ON' position, they will light up when the power goes out. You can also grab one and use it to find your way around in the dark; since it is already lit up it makes it very easy to find. While the 40-lumen output is not super-bright, it is more than enough to light up a room sufficiently to see your way around in the dark and makes it very easy, safe, and convenient to find your emergency supplies, which for us include our larger and brighter flashlights, lanterns, and power banks. These say they'll last around three hours, which is very good. I placed these around the house in key areas where it will be good to have some light, like stairways, hallways outside bedrooms, living room, garage, etc. One of the best things (for me) about these is that they do not have a night light feature. I just want them to stay plugged in and only provide light if the power goes out. It's hard to find these without the night light, so these are great. After buying an initial six-pack, I liked them enough to buy an additional pack and I believe I now have nine of these around our house. I'll probably give the other three to family. The only slight negatives I can think of is that they have a very bright red light on the front that is on all the time whenever they're plugged in and have power. You can see it a mile away, which may annoy some people. I would have preferred it be less bright but can live with it. The only other thing is that one out of the 12 lights I got the case was slightly separating on the lower-right side, as in I could pull the front and back pieces open slightly. At first, I thought that maybe the screen boss inside was broken but found that the screw simply was not tightened. Upon tightening that screw, the case is completely secure. Maybe someone just missed a step during assembly, but glad it was just that and not actually broken. All things considered, I am very happy with this product. Time will tell if the batteries hold up over the years. Also, I've checked every one of these over the past few days and none of them got hot, or even warm at all. I was concerned because one reviewer stated that all of his melted but also indicated that he was using them in an ambulance? Wondering if the inverter in the vehicle could have been the cause or maybe these just don't react the same to it verses regular AC utility power. At any rate, no problems at all with ours thus far.

Concerned about power outages in the bathroom during showers
While the flashlight format is convenient, my primary reason for purchasing these lights is for safety. I was especially concerned about power outages in the bathroom during showers, which could leave someone in complete darkness and at risk of falls and injuries. At just over $7 each, the peace of mind these lights offer is well worth the cost, especially when considering the potential expense and consequences of a bathroom fall. A six-pack of these lights is sufficient for covering key areas like bathrooms, bedrooms, and kitchens in a small home. They offer excellent value and have very good build quality. The red indicator light is perfectly balanced—noticeable without being too bright. The lights are incredibly user-friendly, requiring no instructions: switch on to use as a flashlight, plug into an outlet to turn the light off, and unplug to turn it back on. The switch on the front allows you to turn off the light when it's unplugged and used as a flashlight. For use as a power failure light, simply leave it in the on position and plugged in. I appreciate that this model does not include a night light feature, as I don't find that necessary. These lights are replacing similar ones that lasted 21 years, and I anticipate these will last at least 7 to 10 years. Addressing a concern raised by an earlier commenter about units overheating, these Eveready power failure lights include a built-in fuse as a safety measure to prevent overloads. I tested all six devices by charging them for 12 hours and then leaving them on as flashlights for an hour. They did not get warm at any point during charging or use. I believe the advertised 3-hour runtime is accurate. I highly recommend considering these power failure lights to protect yourself and your family. They don’t take up both power outlets like some other models. When the power goes out, you'll be glad you purchased them.

Nice to have when power is out.
These work well. Nice to have for a quick emergency light to grab in each room when the electricity goes out. Lasted a couple hours steady.

Good little flashlights
Put these around the house for power outages obviously. Could have used them a few months ago when a tornado left us without power for 3 days. An adjustable flashlight is definitely much better than these. They are short range, spot flashlights, but they work as advertised. If I could change anything, I would have a mode where the red LED is off, and comes on instead of the flashlight when the power goes out. That way, it is findable, but does not run down the battery as quickly as the flashlight LED. As it is, you have a decision to make. Do you turn off some of them all the time and go find them when the power goes out, or do you leave them all on and then decide if you want to turn them off to save battery power, or just leave them all on and hope the outage is less than the battery life.

Great Buy
These are so nice to have around the house. We keep one in various rooms around the house so we won't have an issue if the power goes out. Also, no more looking around the house when we need a flashlight. We know exactly where they are and they are always fully charged.
