Booty Royale: Never Go Down Without a Fight! Vols. 1-2

This looks at first glance like your average ecchi manga, but it's anything but. I would actually characterize it as a work comedy about sex work and martial arts.Protagonist Misora Haebara is an Okinawan karate star who moves to Tokyo hoping to become an idol singer. One little problem: she can't sing. So instead she ends up working as a gravure model (adult non-nude photography), except her agency REALLY wants her to move up to AV (hardcore porn). And she very much doesn't want to: she's a virgin and doesn't want her first time to be a business transaction.While featuring roughly the amount of fanservice you'd expect from a manga that's literally about the lives of professional sex workers, it's surprisingly well-researched, both in terms of the inner workings of the idol and adult entertainment industries and about martial arts content: several of the recurring characters besides Misora are martial artists in addition to models or porn actors, and it doesn't pull punches about the skeevier side of the adult entertainment industry, either. And while it's emphatically not for kids, all the characters who take their clothes off are explicitly legal adults, which is a plus in my opinion.

The art is pretty good. It borders between appearing like any other manga style, and being unique enough to stand out. This is mostly shown through character design.The story is typical, and kinda gets a little boring. For me, I felt more panicked that she'd be forced in to illicit "relations" rather than entertained by the obvious absurdity the story was clearly going for. I like drama, but dude. A creative idea that never reached its full potential.Characters are great. The main protag is such a sweetie. Side characters are hilarious, both in the way they act, and design.The topic at hand is pretty serious, and I'm not going to preach, but if you're looking to get in to show business/become an idol, make sure you have a lawyer look over the contract before you sign it. The entire driving drama of the first book is due almost exclusively to the main protag not reading the fine print (and her manager being just an absolute garbage human).Overall, it's an entertaining read, but nothing popped out and wowed me. I think if a bit more was put in to the story and character (and it was executed better), this concept (as controversial as it is) would have made an amazing manga.

Not full hentai, but still good enough to hold your attention.

I found this manga on a whim looking for other material to read. It has been a fun experience watching her story unfold in some very peculiar ways if you catch my drift ;)

I don't know how to review this manga. By far, this manga is one of The most degenerate things I have ever read, no cap. So naturally, I read the entire thing and spent my entire time reacting as Idris Elba did in his episode of Hot One hosted by Sean Evans on the YouTube channel First We Feast. There’s no overall arc. She wants to be a singer, and she becomes an actor instead. Then she gets an idol group while keeping up with her Martial Arts training as she is the Okinawan daughter of a dojo master. It's all goofball stuff that's all over the place. The Plot isn't winning the Oscars, but art isn't that bad. It has a lovely 1980s anime aesthetic.I can’t endorse this manga, but if you already know you're not going to heaven, then check out Booty Royale, the best battle royale since Call of Duty Warzone.

This manga is 18+ and deals with explicit and sometimes extreme content.When I read this manga online and thought it would never be a physical copy. I'm glad they decided to make it.This manga is more mature and deals with alot of heavily and sometimes offensive material that others might want to avoid. However the perseverance and determination of the main character won me over. She never gives up no matter how dark it gets. She might stumble and sometimes fall but she'll always gets back up. Definitely not for everybody and opinions might be split but I enjoy it and can't wait for the other chapters to be published.
