Q: What the case diameter? On the Casio website it says 52.1 mm but the spec on Amazon says 47.

Hey Paul, I have the same watch. Its actual dial size is 47 mm but if you include the side guards it makes it 52.1 mm.

Q: dose the compass work really well on this watch?

Hard for me to say. It looks like it might but it's a little complicated to use, at least for an old marine like me. I still haven't really figured out how to use it. I'm good with a compass and a GPS but I haven't had the time to sit down with the instructions and take the time to learn how to use it. I tried to use it once when out kayaking on the lake but would have to really take it out with the instructions to figure out how to use it properly. It's not too bad it you just want a general idea of you heading but to really use it properly it takes a bit of practice and reading the instructions, at least it will for me.
