One of the few indispensable books for any uni student studying Urban Design or Urban Planning on BA or Masters courses.

good book, bad kindle ed.
So far this is a great book. Just a quick note on the kindle edition; No page numbers! or table of contents! for me this was a text book assigned for a class where certain pg. numbers are assigned readings, additionally you can't cite this book in an academic paper from the kindle addition without pg. numbers. Again, this is in no way a negative review of the content of this book.

Comprehensive but boring
This book is a useful encyclopedia but is uninteresting to read the entire volume for a semester at a college

Pages Started falling out
To start with the content of the book is second to none; however, on my literal first read of this book, three pages fell out of the centre when going to chapter 6. I purchased this book specifically for dissertation research, knowing this was the chapter I needed. The book hasn't had any hard treatment as it lives on my desk, so I was disappointed when it broke after spending this much on a book.Would probably recommend getting the first edition rather than this one as my lecturer's has last the test of time if the content is still needed.

excellent starter book for Urban theory
Great book to start a study of Urban planning. Very well laid out and informative.book has loads of references to other places where more in depth knowledge can be found on many Urban issues.I found this to be an excellent book to have in my (architecture) student bookshelf.
