Works as advertised, but…….
This removes the impurities, but you’ll have to let the water that sits in it run out before you can drink it because it will be very warm if not hot. This is caused because the UV light never turns off.Reminds me of when we drank water out of the garden hose when we were kids, It would be hot for the first 10 seconds or so.

Leaks bad! Must be willing to use gasket maker.
I'll cut right to the chase, this product leaks bad! Like real bad! I tried twisting the outlets even tighter just for the sake of trying, but to no avail. and it's no wonder this product leaks as it does not come with gaskets. I happened to have gasket maker and remedied the situation myself. This product probably deserves a 1 star because for the price, a leaky product due to no gaskets is unacceptable! I decided to give a 2 star because now that I made the gaskets myself, it seems to be functioning as intended.Edit: complete and utter pile of trash downgraded to a 1 star! Stopped working after about 1 mth The UVC Ballast is beeping and flashing under fault. Worst part is that I can't even return it because I'm a few days over the return date. Based on the multiple issues I've had, don't even bother!

Junk - Will leak water
The elbow part and the joint are cheaply built and there is no sealant. I installed it and within 2 hours I could here water squirting sound and when I went to my kitchen I see puddle of water. This part is junk don’t buy it. The customer service is closed for the weekend and I have to deal with the water damage. I was hoping this would work and very disappointed with the quality. I tried tightening the elbow joint but to no avail.

Received a used product even though a bought a "NEW" one from Amazon
This is the second time I have received an obviously used apec product bought ‘new’ through amazon. Obviously APEC is repurposing their customer returns. In the case of UV filter there was an unbelievable amount of black grease on the elbow fittings, they didn't even bother replacing or cleaning them. I am absolutely disgusted. Second time this has happened with a "NEW" product from APEC. Next time I have to replace the filters I'm switching to another brand.

Upgrade for ROED 50 system
excellent upgrade for my ROES 50 system.Very easy to install, take me 4-5 minutes.I wrote to the people of Apec Water and they responded immediately recommending this product and explaining the way of installation.
