Genuine Subaru 15208AA12A Oil Filter, 1 Pack

I'm happy to say I'm pleased with this purchase and have been in the past every time I bought this Subaru oil filter for my Forester. It arrived nicely wrapped and sealed in a tight plastic wrap which I appreciate. Great product.

What can I say? It filters oil. Doing my fair share of research prior to just slapping something on my 2017 Subaru WRX STI I wanted to see everyone else's experiences with oil filters. The majority of people seem to be running the OEM filter with different oils. I combined it with Motul 5W-40 and so far the car seems to be running much better than when it did brand new with subaru oil (oil gets credit for that.) These are fairly priced even though you can pick them up for around 6-7 bucks at a dealer. So its a 1-2 dollar convenience fee I guess.

Despite being listed as non fit ent for the sti is in in fact a direct replacement and correct part number. My bit of disappointment is the lack of providing a crush washer with each filter. I searched online at various retailers for this filter and at a comparable price those retailers also included the crush washer. So now my effort to avoid a trip to the dealership will now result in a trip to the dealer for a couple washers. Had it not been for having some Amazon bucks available to discount the price of these filters I would not have purchased them through Amazon and Subaru online parts because their pricing is actually above that of the local dealership picked up.

Always like getting OEM when I can, but it was needed in my car's case. Every single parts store around here has a larger filter listed for my model, and wouldn't fit. Finally tried this and got the right fit!

I read several comprehensive reports on filter construction tests, it was noted that this unit was the best constructed. It is the same as the Nissan products, which are top-rated.

I always try to get a OE filter when I can. This Subaru filter is designed to work on my car and I've never had a problem with it on my 1999 Forester. Almost 250,000 miles and it runs great. The Amazon price is a lot better than the dealer charges. Change the oil yourself and save a lot of money and don't get into the situation my friend had where he had his oil changed and the idiot didn't screw the filter on tight and all his oil drained out onto the street and he almost lost his engine. (This was at a quick lube type place, not the dealer). I know that's a rare situation but it's haunted me ever since he told me, so I always change my own oil now.

Good OEM filter at a good price. Don't get a regular oil filter from the big chain stores or even the auto parts stores for your Subaru. The bypass pressure is much higher on the filter required for my 2009 Forester so I either get a WIX or the OEM Subaru filter.

My son purchase for his WRX when he wanted to change his own oil. Work just fine, though seems a little small to suit me I could be longer and get more cleaning area. But all these types of cars have these little filter.
