Excellent book for baking successful macarons!
I've been trying for over a year to bake macarons and finally had success with this book. The instructions are clear and if you follow them carefully, you should have success. There is a learning curve to baking macarons so don't get discouraged if you are not successful on your first attempt. I used the French macaron recipe as it looked easier than the Italian macaron recipe. It's very important to get almond flour (I found it at Earth Fare). I did not have superfine sugar so I grinded my granulated sugar in my food processor. The only adjustment I made were to let my macarons rest for at least 30 minutes instead of 15. It would be a good idea to pipe out all your macarons at once or cover your bowl of batter so your batter does not become sticky. Also, instead of trying to make my macarons exactly 2 1/2 inches; I piped them to the size of vanilla wafers. I do not have a pastry bag so I used my Pampered Chef Easy Accent Decorator (and no, I do not sell Pampered Chef). I just used a tub of frosting from the grocery store for my filling, but will try the delicious fillings that are in the book. I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in the art of baking macarons!
