A Couple After God's Own Heart: Building a Lasting, Loving Marriage Together

I liked this book, which focuses on marriages in the Bible and lessons to be learned from each. I appreciated the fresh look on Bible stories that I have read many times. The book is easy to read and contains helpful bullet point summary of lessons learned at the end of each chapter (just in case you breeze through the lessons the first time around). I read this book on a rocking chair at a mountain cabin sitting by the stream, and it wasn't too heavy for that scene ... although I did pause my reading for a moment to run back to the house for a highligher ...

I enjoyed studying from this book in my couples group. It focuses on several couples from the Bible and their lives. It's interesting to think about how what we go through today in our relationships isn't all too different. The companion study book raises some good thought provoking questions that normally lead to some very good conversations. I encourage getting both.

Honestly, I have not gotten through this book/study to give it a 100% honest review, however, the book has just not caught my attention enough to keep going. I'm still going to try again but it'll take time. If it says anything, my husband got further through it than I did.

It’s great to see the couples and how the Bible is still relevant to lives today. To see how God is always working to bring each of us back to him. This book is great for anyone who wants to understand God a little more and the purpose is for their marriage.
