Master Lock Padlock, Outdoor Personal Use Bluetooth Lock, 2-7/32 in. Wide, 4401DLH

Easy-ish setup through the IOS app and the lock is very sturdy. The user experience leaves a bit to be desired because the app sends you one code via e-mail and one code via text message at the same time. You will be inclined to enter the code from the text message first but you will be wrong. You have to enter the e-mail code first and then after that it will ask you to enter the code from the text message. Then you have to enter the activation code. The app shows you an image of the box as it appears on the packaging and you will try to click on it several times before you realize that the app wants you to enter the activation code in the textbox above the image and not on the image itself. I bought this to go on a Lifetime shed in my back yard. My only complaint is that it is slightly too long and a little too thick to fit in the narrow holes for my shed. I can get it on with some maneuvering but I would prefer not to have to. Aside from that, looks and feels like a quality product and works as advertised. I have been using it for two days so far. I am giving it 5 stars because I am rating the lock itself and not the usability of the applicationI couldn't find a way for my wife to have permanent access to the lock with her own account, so she ended up signing into my account on her phone. This works but is not ideal.

I saw all the negative reviews of this outdoor bluetooth lock but also the positive reviews, so I decided to give it a try. Initial setup went fine. I installed the iOS app, setup the lock, and tested it a few times. The lock worked exactly as advertised, so then I put it on our gate and tested again. It worked, again as advertised. Then, preparing to show my wife how to use the lock -- now locked on the gate, I tried to unlock it and it wouldn't unlock. I could hear the triple-click indicating that the lock was "unlocked", but no matter how hard I pulled on the shank, the lock wouldn't open. Then the sound of the single-click indicated that the lock was locked. So I called Master Lock Customer Service. After several minutes on hold listening to music, I was able to talk to a gentleman who assured me that if I was hearing the triple-click (which I was), then the lock was unlocked and all I had to do was "really yank on it" and it would open. So I tried that a few times and on the last try it opened! At this point, I removed the lock from the gate and took it back inside the house to test it more. I locked it again, and again unlocked it -- once. But then I locked it one more time and this time could not unlock it no matter how hard I pulled on it. My conclusion after all this is that the lock works sometimes but often does not. This was very disappointing because my previous experience with Master locks has been wonderful. Anyway, I decided to return this bluetooth lock and stick with the tried-and-true manual key-type lock that has always worked so well for me: Master Lock Padlock, Magnum Stainless Steel Discus Lock, 3-1/8 in. Wide.

So far so good. I've had one from another brand that had water issues. We do get heavy rains here. What I like better with this lock is the larger battery. Our gate gets opened 10-20 times a day. The other advertised 6 months battery life only to discover that is only if you use it once or twice a day.I did make contact with Master Lock about opening during heavy rainfall and if we could use de-icer on it in the winter. They were emphatic about relocking the lock as soon as possible and try to cover the lock from the rain while it is open. Some water "may" collect on the inside. However when locked it is well sealed.They are to get back to me about the deicer. Regular locks we heat with a torch to open in the Winter after a freezing rain.The four buttons on front are easier to hit a combo than dits and dahs of undetermined length done by other locks.It appears to respond quicker to the phone on unlock and has a nice large icon on the lock to indicate interaction and green for it's unlocked.Of the bluetooth locks I've researched So far this one appears to work best in our situation. A tow yard impound/accident lot.

It is on a gate entrace to my land where I am building. I have to let in construction workers so need a way to do it and not drive 30 miles to let them in. This lock allows me to send a temporary code to the project manager to let them in. It sends to their phone and then they can read the code that is good for 7 hours and they can punch in and open the lock. The code is not good after the 7 hour period and you can no longer unlock the lock with it until I send a new code.

Very sturdy lock with for the most part very well thought out features. In addition to that I also think that it has the best price in its class.The app could be more intuitive and I still haven't found how to revoke or modify temporary access and it should be made more clear that IF the primary owners phone is within Bluetooth range that a setting needs to be selected to prevent opening. For instance if the lock is on a pool cage and the phone is in Bluetooth range and powered - a child could still push the button on the lock to open it. Or if it's on a shed or something -- say in the middle of the night an intruder could do the same. It is preventable with a setting but I figured it out by stumbling on it. I'll be ordering more!

Pusimos este candado en la reja de entrada de la casa reemplazando a un candado con combinación númerica. Estábamos buscando una opción sin llave porque la puerta de la casa tiene una cerradura digital y no tenía sentido tener un candado con llave en la reja. El candado con combinación era muy poco práctico porque lleva mucho tiempo poner la combinación, cuando está oscuro es necessario contar con una luz y se endurece el mecanismo con la lluvia.El candado Master Lock es muy práctico ya que se empareja con el teléfono y al acercarte se conectan por bluetooth y se abre muy facilmente. A veces le cuesta un poco contectarse al teléfono pero en ese caso es muy sencillo ingresar la clave con el pad, es como un video juego, muchísimo más sencillo y rápido que con una combinación númerica tradicional, aunque la clave sea muy larga.Además, en la app hay muchas opciones más, asiganr permisos a personas, limitar los permisos por días y horarios, asignar permisos temporarios, etc.Por último, es de muy buena calidad y resistente al agua, no se oxida ni se comrpomete el funcionamiento. Vivo en una ciudad en la que llueve mucho y era importante que resistiera bien a la humedad porque está en el exterior. Al candado con clave númerica tradicional que teníamos antes se le endureciá el mecanismo cada vez que llovía, a pesar de ser para exterior.Estoy muy satisfecho con este candado y lo recomiendo. Antes de comprarlo tenía dudas porque había leído algunos comentarios negativos, pero creo que debe ser que a esas personas lamentablemente tuvieron mala suerte. Pasan estas cosas con todos los productos electrómicos. Hay un pequeño margen de productos que pueden presentar fallas. Si me pasara lo cambiaría por otro candado nuevo porque funcionando correctamente es una joya.

This lock was decent in the summer. It wouldn't connect most of the time so we would just use the code, effectively making it the same as its less expensive counterparts (and I mean at least $60.00 less expensive).In the winter it just froze shut and became unresponsive. It started in -5 degree Celsius weather, and then permitted the colder it got. I had to pour warm water over it just to unlock it. It's currently on my counter because it's not worth the trouble.When it works (using a combination): 5/5 starsApp to unlock it via your phone: 1/5 starsWinter: Completely inoperable.Verdict: Look elsewhere. I was incredibly disappointed in this product. Master Lock could have and should have done so much better....

Love this lock. So easy to use. Too bad it isn't compatible with my husband's iPhone 4 but oh well. It works with my phone

Hasta ahora ha funcionado perfectamente, a reserva de cuando la aplicación está abierta en segundo plano y tarda hasta 10 segundos o poco más en abrir, por lo demás cumple excelente con lo que promete, lo usamos un par con el celular y otros con código patrón lo cual evita por lo menos traer llaves. Con la aplicación abierta en pantalla todo fluye sin problema, tal vez una mejora en firmware podría mejorar la velocidad con aplicación en segundo plano en versiones futuras ya que si se actualiza si sale nuevo firmware, de ahí en mas no hay quejas y funciona muy bien a la intemperie.
