Excellent addition to narrow cabinet, allows for usable access to the back!
We had a small end cabinet at the end of our kitchen remodel, and since we used our other small cabinet for cookie sheets and other large pans we needed to find a good use for this cabinet. The pull-out does take up some of the real estate of the cabinet, but it allows easy access all the way to the back of a narrow cabinet which is pretty difficult to even access without some type of pull out. Our cabinet was actually a 9" cabinet, but the 7" unit was still too large for the frame opening, so I just shifted the 5" to one side and this allowed a nice storage location for our step stool since we are both rather short and our new cabinets go to the ceiling!Only issue is it is a little stiff opening and closing, but that may be due to buying an opened box item...I was trying to get this unit cheaper by buying used from Amazon Warehouse, the first one was broken and missing the track, the 2nd one had the track but it was bent, it looked like someone dropped it on the corner. I was able to bend it back and it moves smoothly for most of the travel, just the last few inches of close require more force, and it hangs occasionally on open. I left the review at 5 stars because I believe this is from my purchasing of a used damaged unit.

Great storage unit
The unit works great in our 9 inch wide end cabinet and we use it for a large spice cabinet. I am glad we did not purchase the one with the utensil holders at the top as i feel they would have been useless. It is fairly easy to install, the only two problems were: 1. finding the slide release levers, took about ten minutes to figure out how to release the bottom mount. 2. you really need to be a bit more flexible then I am (76) to crawl around and get into the 9 inch wide cabinet to position the templet, drill the holes and mount the unit. Luckly I have a young 40+ year old son to do that type of work.

Difficult install
On first impression taking it out of the box the unit is sturdy and strong and the glider system is substantial. I started on the installation. This is supposed to be a 30-35 minute install. This is the second rev-a-shelf item I have bought. The first was installed in about 10 minutes. This however took well over the established time. My husband and I are not new to using tools. We completely gutted our kitchen and rebuilt it ourselves. We completely gutted our bathroom and we built it ourselves. This install, however, was unnecessarily challenging and here is why:1) four of the screws required for mounting the bracket to the base of the cabinet were not included in the hardware. So I made a trip to the hardware store to get the necessary screws. Attaching the rear screws into the narrow cabinet opening is no easy task and requires a tight area driver and a magnetic screw holder.2) once installed, the top front of the unit was catching on our door frame on one side. The back was evenly aligned, the mount was level and the cabinet is plumb and level. So I can only assume the front of the unit is somehow twisted from the back. To make it glide evenly we needed to remove some of the bolts holding in the rail to the unit and shim under the front left corner of the unit.3) the instructions will now have you install the door and install the back stop. Do not bother with the backstop yet as you will need to remove it and pull out the entire unit again before attaching spacers or bushings. Attaching the door is easiest by marking with a pencil the height position of the metal bracket glides on the back of the door panel and then placing the door panel on the floor with the unit on top of it.4) 4 spacers, 2 nail in bushings and 2 plastic/felt bolt in bushings were included, but all of them required a much larger cabinet opening than I had. My cabinet front opening measured 5 1/4." We modified the placement of the plastic bolt in bushings which required my husband cut down a 6" long 11/32" drill bi to an 1 1/2", resharpen it, attach it to a right angle driver and attach to the inside of the cabinet. In all what was supposed to to be a half hour install took a few hours including a trip to the hardware store. As for the product itself it seems sturdy and like it could handle a substantial amount of weight. The soft close mechanism does not consistently work in that it will stop about 3" open when you try to close it. Also the release mechanism for the glides does not easily release on one of the three glides. For the cost I expected less chaos than this.

Great addition to a kitchen
Purchase this to convert a pan cabinet to a spice rack (last second decision). We had our kitchen renovation contractor install the spice rack. It wasn’t difficult for them as we didn’t have our quartz countertops installed when it was installed (much easier to work in the tight space). Overall I’m happy with it and the fact that it is soft closing just like the rest of the kitchen cabinets.

Overall I'm satisfied with this product
Just received and installed today. Installation was a bit tough in the small space this unit was designed for but not complicated. The soft close feature works but not as well or noticeable as the other soft close hardware I have on the doors and drawers of my other cabinets, but the soft close does its job of making sure the unit isn't slammed shut.Mounting the door to this unit was the most bothersome part of the installation. The mounting brackets slide horizontally but not vertically, so it was important I positioned the door at the right height to match the line of the drawers. My wife hasn't used it yet; she'll decide what will be stored in it. Overall I'm satisfied with this product, it makes a small almost useless base unit more usable and organized.

Not a cinch to install.
Does what it's designed for. Got a little lateral movement.

Nice glide and soft close
Cabinet slide looks and works great. was a bit tough to screw in the base at the back of the cabinet - but that is because it is only a 5 inch slide so not much room to maneuver- no fault of the cabinet! Comes with a lot of extra hardware for different installations/configurations, which was overwhelming, but once I realized I just needed hardware for a basic configuration, it took no time to set up.Love it!

Just installed it-Sliders not gliding, hard to push
Just installed it, would recommend ordering larger if you can as fits only small spice bottles, but it does the trick. My only problem is I need new sliders as it seems to be not sliding well, have to push hard and its supposed to be soft close and I don't know where to purchase new sliders. When I ordered this item I got a good deal direct from Amazon, said it only had cosmetic issues and was in good condition. It did have some wood damage-nothing crazy but evidently it had deeper issues with the sliders.
