Everflo EF5500-BOX 5.5GPM 12V Diaphragm Pump-1/2 FNPT Connection, 5.5 GPM, Black

I spent the extra money for a quality pump and this was a huge disappointment. It did work as advertised and I sure did like it, but it made it just over a year and it quit. It no longer works at all and I'm having to replace it. I use these a lot. We spray farm chemicals with them weekly. We do take good care of them but we do use them a lot. I expected this pump to last for at the least several years for the price, but it only lasted about a year. I can buy cheaap pumps with the same GPM and pressure for 1/3 the cost and they last longer. I do not believe I got a good value for my money.

The pump works very well and has good power for its size. The installation was simple and the materials feel resistant. So far it has fulfilled what was expected and maintains a good flow of water. Good option for its value for money.

Well I usually order ahead of time to keep a spare in my truck. When I got it I found it to be pretty dirty but I didn’t think much of it. I went to install it yesterday and it had a crack at the fitting connection and my heart sank because I realized I was passed the return window. Not sure why I was sent a dud but I’ll never order through this source again if this is the type of quality control they have.

Pump worked well until it didn't. After approximately 10 hours of use as an herbicide sprayer pump, the pump began spraying high pressure product through the two screws at the base of the pump-not the diaphragm end but the base of the pump motor indicating complete internal failure. Unfortunately this meant that the herbicide liquid was sprayed all over my back. Since it was well within warranty, I contacted Amazon who forwarded my request for a replacement to the seller and I was assured that I would hear back from the seller within 48 hours. After 96 hours I still had not received any contact from the seller. Prior to this I was going to order a second one of the same as a backup pump but the lack of response from the seller changed my mind. Amazon finally intervened and refunded my purchase cost. Much more time was spent resolving this than should have occurred. I cannot recommend this item.

I used the pump about once a week for the last 14 months, spraying about 80 gallons of water each time. The pump is fairly quiet, easy to use, and provided great pressure for what I needed. Last week, the pressure switch broke which caused the pump to continuously run and a build up pressure in the line. Everflo sells replacement pump head kits for $60, and other companies sell replacement pressure switches, but we opted to purchase a brand new pump and keep the old one for spare parts.

Kinda unorthodox packaging but I’m not planning on babying the pump. Was a bit damp on arrival. Pump didn’t work at first but it turns out a fuse blew in my wire harnesses,(not the pump fuse) was only a 7.5amp fuse. Threw in the correct size and it’s been running well. Iv had 4-5 of these and they normally last me the better part of a year running caustic chemicals through it. I rinse with about 5 gal H2O after each use.

My previous review was not rosy because the new pump failed to start! Unfortunately Amazon return timeline expired already! Fortunately the manufacturer in Minnesota “Valley Industries” was incredibly kind. Thank you Mary! They sent me a new pump in 2 days because the pump was still under warranty. So have no fear the folks at Vally industries will be there for you.

Have used these pumps before and are a great product. This one however, arrived damaged as if someone had returned it after breaking it and then got shipped to me. Check your pump out when you get it.

This is the second everflo pump I have purchased, the first pump lasted a couple years of light use, there are much cheaper pumps but I stuck with what I knew. With the new pump I only used it a couple short times and noticed a lot of leakage from the head. Unlucky for me I missed the product return window. If I used the pump regularly I would have noticed the leak and sent it back earlier. I have attached a photo of the leak. The head screws are tight. I hope this helps.

The Pump arrived 7 days early so ***** to the supplier and Amazon. The pump is quieter than i imagined it would be so that is a huge plus

Good pressure and volume . I used it to supply water for a shower in a remote cabin . The ondemand propane water heater needs adequate pressure and volume . Or else the burners will not stay on .

This pump has been fantastic for my softwashing setup. It handles chemicals with no issues, which is crucial for my work. I replace it annually due to the wear from chemicals, but for the value it brings to my company, it’s well worth it. The 5.5 GPM flow is perfect for my needs, and the 1/2” FNPT connection makes it easy to integrate into my system. Would be a great choice for anyone in the softwashing or similar industries. It’s a reliable and affordable option that gets the job done!

Arrived with a cracked outlet, making it useless. By the time I got around to using it, the refund window has already closed. Check upon arrival else you may be stuck with a defective unit, like me
