Q: Is there a spot for a laptop?

No not able to fit a laptop bigger than 15.7 in main compartment.Small back pack and straps are not too big either. I use it for class at the local university and not able to fit too much.

Q: Is this backpack waterproof or water repellent?

When I ordered this backpack and opened the box, it was not authentic. The stitching were perfect squares and Vera Bradley are diamond stitching.

Q: Is this the actual Vera Bradley brand

Yes, it is. It’s also a great quality backpack. I bought maybe three years ago for my daughter when she was in high school. She’s a college student now and still loves her backpack, althogu now she uses it when going surfing.
