Great quality...awesome price for it!
I so happy with this purchase. I wanted a file cabinet to hide all our bills and documents and get rid of a horribly ugly 4 drawer cabinet. Gorgeous beachy distress looking finish. This peice is heavy particle board with a thick nice laminated finish. I'm not a huge fan of laminated furniture, but this is a very good qualility cabinet. If you are extremely patient and very mechanical it will take 4 hours to assemble. You can do it with on person, but at times it is helpful to have husband (in my case) or someone to assist in repositioning the peice to start a new part of the assembly. All hardware was there. I will say pay attention to the directions when installing the interior anti-tipping lock assembly. All said this is a great price for this nice cabinet. LOVE IT! More than exceeded my expectations.

Highly Recommend
I absolutely love this file cabinet. Not only is it beautiful, its sturdy and has 2 locking drawers. I looked for over a month online for a file cabinet that wouldn't be hideous in my townhome but also wouldn't waste space. I need 2 locking drawers for my work. Nothing came close to the price and style of this one! I also put it together myself (I am 30 y/o female) and I did get frustrated a few times but I did it. It took me 2 nights to do, 2-3 hours each night.

Good quality for price but be patient w construction
Looks good and is very decent quality once put together. Not too high end stuff, but hey I knew that from the price I paid. Had an issue with one of the sliders and When I inserted the drawer all the ball bearings fell out. Had to go to sauder website and place an order for the part which they shipped at no cost and very quickly (actually shipped two sets and I only needed one). Overall it now works well as a file holder and locks workWell too.My only complaint is that one of the draws sits slightly "off". Likely due to my construction (which yes it took a LONG time) not being absolutely perfect. Kind of annoying. I did spend an inordinate amount of time putting it together so I thought it would be Spot in.So my only advice is to just be extra special retentive about making sure each and every step of the way you line everything up exactly.

Sturdy and functional after assembly
I am a 63 yr old woman. Putting this together alone was difficult although not impossible. I did require the help of a neighbor at one point. It took me two days to put it together. ( I took lots of breaks) I'm happy with the finished product, mostly. I like that it locks. It's an attractive piece of furniture and sturdy. 4 stars because of the assembly process but I knew that ahead of time. All parts were present and no damage in the shipping process. It arrived very quickly. The box was heavy of course, so if you have a lot of outside steps to carry it up, you will need help. I found a magnetized Phillips head to be very helpful while assembling. Filing cabinet easily matches my decor.

Needs careful assembly, may need some tweaking but a pleasure after
Beautiful addition to my home office. This roomy lateral file and the Freedom Filer filing system mean my paper clutter issues are behind me.It's heavy when it arrives so if your final location needs stairs, I strongly recommend getting the delivery service. Assembly service via TaskRabbit is also recommended though I didn't use it.Assembly is long and prone to errors so be very careful. When it arrives, make sure to look for the name label for each piece and mark them all. The labels are not the same; some are stickers, some stamped into the side of the wood and some don't have any label at all. Spend time upfront to understand and make sure you know how the entire thing will be put together and where each piece will go. It took me 4 hours to assemble and I did have a few issues with it after. The top wooden piece doesn't sit flat on supports because the supports assembly is a bit wonky (the screw holes seem to be slightly off). Also, the two drawers are different so make sure you put them in the right slots. After assembling, my top drawer kept rubbing against the bottom drawer front-plate and occasionally wouldn't even go in without lifting or pushing the lower drawer down. I took both drawers out and realized that the Sauder cam bolts weren't sitting completely snugly in the shelves. I pushed them in, they kept bouncing back out but finally managed to make them stay put and now my drawers roll, open and close smoothly. The filing itself is pure pleasure. Plenty of space. Adjustable for letter and legal file folders. I'm transitioning away from binders and using hanging files and manila folders is such a relief and makes filing and looking for stuff a breeze and even enjoyable. I recommend looking into the Freedom Filer system that is self-purging so you keep automatically cleaning out old papers as they age out and get replaced by new ones. The cabinet itself is a stunner with the shiplap front panels adding a nice touch of class. Not being metal means it just keeps the look of my home office classy. And the nice depth means I can use it to keep my printer and scanner on top. Perfect and highly recommended once you get past the assembly issues.
