better than the coverage provided by the three WAP371s together
I have a large house with a complex layout, including a basement. I had been using three WAP371 access points, but they just weren't doing the job. I recently installed one of these in a central location, and the coverage is astounding, better than the coverage provided by the three WAP371s together. My plan had been to buy two more as one-for-one replacements of my WAP371s if I liked this first one. But it has worked so well I am rethinking that; maybe just one more. The device is loaded with lots of interesting functionality not found in many consumer units, but the only thing I use beyond basic access point functionality is VLAN tagging of my guest SSID. That way I can isolate guest traffic on my network, and not worry about someone deciding it would be cool to connect to the TVs, PlayBars, DVRs, and NAS storage devices. that they could otherwise see.Through the admin interface you may see a "Channel Optimization" option. It is tempting to select "Optimize for Performance." I did, and it caused an older laptop running Linux not to be able to connect in the 5ghz band. Changing to "Optimize for Interoperability" solved the problem, and despite the names of the choices, it didn't impact performance. As far as I can tell, the only difference is that the first choice makes additional DFS channels available, which could only matter in very dense WiFi environments.

Expensive but our frustrations in search of a reliable, top WIFi experience is over...
Our consistent search for a powerful and reliable AC WiFi system is over. Six months operating and zero reboots and zero dropouts anywhere in my home and full power 30 yards out on the street. Three Amazon Fire TVs could be streaming UHD content at the same time with no hiccups or buffering. This is the same experience as being wired for our available internet speeds (200 Down/15 Up). We are not wealthy people with two children in college but we did pay extra for this enterprise-grade unit. The the top of the line Asus, Linksys and D-links are not quite there yet with their AC technology and all were returned. Experienced too many dropouts, inconsistent speeds and frankly, terrible range compared to the Ruckus R710. Certainly hope your experience will be same as ours if you decide make this purchase.

Great units!
Love these AP's! POE so only one cord going to them, two were more than enough to give me solid coverage in a 2500 sqft two story house and the 3500 sqft backyard. Put one in the attic above the garage and the other behind the big screen on the other end of the house. Hard wire POE Cat6E cable so never had an issue with them.

High quality AP, lacking a bit of "polish"
Outstanding AP, high quality, solid connections so far. Does what it's supposed to and well. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the support/documentation is light and there is a certain level of "polish" missing (broken English in places, comments in online documentation, etc). (I come from the Cisco world which is very "polished"). It seems the SSH interface is completely unsupported/undocumented and many documents on the Ruckus website require a paid support contract to access, which is frustrating.

$1k for this?!
Wow! Are you serious? 1000 bucks for this? What's so special about it? Everybody claims their beam forming (aka BeamFlex) on 2.4Ghz gives you enormous range (on 5 Ghz you have is as part of the standard)... Well, it doesn't! It is exactly the same range as on the Cisco AP, I have the same dead spot in my house. Cisco is 1/9 the price of this and performs pretty well. Needless to say the range is shorter than your typical consumer router+AP combo. Yeah, maybe this has faster CPU and can serve a few extra clients, but to be honest, any consumer router in 2021 will probably beat this 6 years old AP in both - range and performance. The only real selling point is mesh, but since mesh is now coming to consumer market as well - there is really no reason to even look at this AP.
