pro's:- good needle size variety. this was the third tool i tried and finally this one had a needle big enough for thin yarn (as well as the smaller ones). all the other tools i tried only had small needles for embroidery floss- easy to hold, comfortable- spindle tool seems like a cool feature but i haven't tried it yetcon: there was some extra plastic from when it was manufactured in the bottom couple holes where you set the needle length. i fixed it by just like stabbing with a needle to kinda shave that extra plastic off and then the notch would hold its place in all the notches if that makes sense

It wasn't hard to figure out. But the tool is cheaply made. The whole thing kept breaking. I ended up using the needle without the rest of the pen because it would just fall apart. The instructions were not very easy to follow. But for a 1st time user and a YouTube video was easy enough to figure out. I am going to try a new punch tool and see if they all are as poorly made. I was totally disappointed!

I tried to use this loop system. I cannot find a system with accurate drilled holes that will work for Russian Embroidery. I returned it... the craftsmanship was poor.

I bought this punch needle because it comes with four different sizes of needles. I do not really like the clunky spool at the end of the needle. I get that it’s more geared toward using a skein of embroidery floss, or yarn. I am using it with a kit with precut lengths of yarn and it takes too much effort to wind the bobbins every couple of minutes, so I don’t use them
