Fox Run 6601 Grapefruit Knife, Stainless Steel and Plastic

I've owned this knife for a month and can't say enough good things about it. I absolutely love using it to prepare my morning grapefruit. Cuts well, versatile, and only one utensil to rinse off and use again. I bought a couple of grapefruit serated spoons to scrape off the little that remains of the fruit from the peel. The double sided curve is perfect, the twin blades easily separate the membrane from the meat, and even the wooden handle feels great. Haven't written an Amazon review in years, but felt motivated to share my small morning joy with you. Buy it!

Bought this after an unsatisfactory purchase of another knife brand on here. This has rived steel blades, one curved pointing end to slice my grapefruit next to the rine, and the other end a two bladed thing to slice each triangle, it works very well and allows me to dig into the grapefruit much sooner than if I was slicing one triangle edge at a time. I also use it on Kiwi (curved blade only). It slices it such that my spoon is able to dig out the largest amount of kiwi at one time to plop in my mouth. I would recommend this one very much. Regular section blade works well, Double blade end is not very functional, as most grapefruit sections are not evenly shaped, Double blade end doesn't work very good, and is difficult/hazardous to clean (ie hand-washing)... Kind of pricey, but it does the job.

I have other grapefruit knives that I find very useful for other than cutting grapefruit segments. Personally, I am not a grapefruit fan, but the dual blades of this knife looked interesting. Unfortunately, I did not notice that one side of the knife has two blades placed close together. I tried using this side of the knife to core a tomato, and, BOY, was that a mistake. Pieces of the tomato got stuck between the two blades that took almost 15 minutes to get the tomato pieces from between the two blades. In addition, the blade was not sharp enough to cut through the tomato. Although so many positive reviews point out this double blade removes the membrane from grapefruit slices, which it may do, what good is a tool that is good for only one purpose. I have other grapefruit knives that are also useful for removing the membranes from bell peppers, banana, peppers, etc. and are also useful for coring tomatoes. Personally, I feel this knife is useless, and is destined for our donation box. If you are looking for a knife specifically and only for grapefruit and it actually separates the membrane of sections as some users feel it does, this may be the knife for you. Since so much of my tomato stuck between the dual blades, I do wonder how much of the grapefruit membranes also sticks between the duel blades. I would not recommend this grapefruit knife either for grapefruit or for other purposes. I hope this review was helpful for you.
