Need lots of sand in the bags
Works great .I would recomend 4 poles for this size. Also bury the sand bags if there is wind. Still worked well with 15-20 +mph winds on the beach. Easy to put up and take down after burying bags. Would recommend for anyone needing shade .

Not worth the hassle!
Ordered this just in time for our beach trip, we were super excited to use this especially since we had a large group going. We were on the NC coast and it was fairly windy, it was difficult to set up, It took about 5 of us to get it positioned correctly, and took longer than expected. The sandbags were the easiest part, but the poles are very flimsy, we had to dig deep holes in the sand to bury them for more stability. We followed the instructions and watched a Youtube video to make sure we were doing it correctly but either the sides or front / back would fold inwards each time making it difficult for more than 2 people to sit under (we got the giant one). It only comes with 2 poles, definitely needs at least 3 if not 4 to successfully put it up. The concept is good, material is great, but is not easy to set up unfortunately. We also had to change the pole positions every time the wind would shift to keep it from collapsing. I'm thinking of sending it back, or sucking it up and just buying extra poles to be able to use it...which is gonna be an additional $35 give or take. We ended up ordering another brand sun shade (Shibumi) when we were there & it was much easier use. It was fine once we got it to stand up for more than 10 minutes, but the $$ isn't worth the hassle.

Surprisingly easy and works
I took one star off for not having detailed instructions on how much weight to put in the four bags .We started with two gallons of soft sand in a windy day and ended up needing four total gallons and wet sand worked better in terms of weight .If you donβt get enough weight in the bags , it will collapse as other reviews have had issues with . Just keep adding sand or rock and try again . As soon as you have the correct amount of weight , there are NO issues with the tent or canopy staying up even in HIGH wind .It Makes no noise which I was specifically looking for as its competition is loud .We got the gigantic and more than enough room for 5 of us.It does ripple in the wind so that was something I was not sure of , but seeing others on the beach , theirs does too and it does not fall in .Key is to add a lot of weight to the bags .Bring a bucket to help with that .We love it and love the whale fabric !We alway used umbrellas and I could not get them deep enough , but this is great and easy for me to put up .

High winds no problem!
We absolutely loved this sun shade. It did have a learning curve to figure out how to best put up in high wind. Once I figured it out it stayed all day. We purchased the extra poles and used them most of the time. I found that when the wind was 15 mph the shade worked best with 3 poles. We received lot of compliments due to the pretty color and being the only canopy that was up in high wind. I found putting the sand bags in a hole and building a mound was needed on high wind days. I purchased an ice scoop to keep in my bag it was light weight and I could fill the sand bags quickly due to the scoops size. I was surprised at how the next morning when setting up I always had a lot of sand on the cover from take down the night before. You can knock the sand off but not very easily. This meant I always had sand all over myself early in my day. I did have to set up and take down on my own so that may also have something to do with it. I would still say that the shade was worth it. It was nice to only have a small bag to carry when setting up for the day. The extra poles do add some weight but I liked the compact size of the over all unit.
