Good fit in 2012 Tahoe ex Cop Car
I’ve never installed a car stereo without a splice kit. I found a wiring diagram for the Tahoe and used most of the wires in the diagram. Could not locate a signal wire (ignition on) in the stock radio and just jumped the red wire to yellow on the head unit to make the Apple Car Play unit function. Sound comes out better than stock radio. Cannot complain about anything regarding this head unit. It’s fast. It works. Doesn’t take up a bunch of room. Apple car play is crisp, looks better in person than in photos.Fun DIY project.

Poor product.
Has only 1 RCA jack for sub out. The volume know is so tiny it’s hard to grab. The screen shut off but audio still works with no ability to fix this comes and goes at random. There is no tech support available. I wish i could return it but it’s too late. It worked ok for 2 months.

such a good radio!!
I was a little iffy with buying this radio after reading the reviews, but i absolutely recommend this radio to anyone looking for a touch screen radio with apple car play for a decent price! the only thing that threw me off, was that you have to have an apple brand charger for the radio if youre wanting to use apple car play. it said that in the description, but i over read it & assumed any iphone charger would work. hope this helps you guys!!

Work for me, wanted backup camera mainly.
For the price this is not really bad. For the most part it does what it should as it should. It connects to my iPhone just fine, but has a tendency to freeze when mirroring the phone through USB connection. Does okay for using the phones map program for directions, but it lacks the usability that unit with built in navigation have. It’s kind of annoying that you can’t use the touchscreen to do anything and must use the phone itself to do anything. It also likes to restart playing songs at random times for no apparent reason. While annoying to some degree this is to be expected at this price point. You get what you pay for, which is cliche but totally true when it comes to audio equipment. Most annoying was the steering wheel remote and the fact that all the buttons did things other buttons were labeled for. For example the volume up works but volume down skipped the track or something like that. If the labels were right at least I’d be okay with it but having the placement so off it’s just never going to be very usable. Can’t say much on the other remote as after the issues with the one I never bothered to even try it.Sound quality listening to Apple Music can either be fine or sound distorted a bit. So far so good I suppose as it isn’t that bad but it’s a stereo and should at least sound good. Distortion isn’t really all that acceptable in my opinion . But not my main goal so it’ll pass.Screen sometimes also drops the image that is from the phone. Unplugging and plugging the USB back in seems to correct this issue but when driving I don’t want to fumble with unplugging anything. I didn’t set the bar very high so this is not going to be an issue for me I don’t think.Overall it is what I expected it to be. A very simple, no frills, car stereo. It isn’t too bad but pales in comparison to name brand higher dollar versions on the market. I am giving 4 stars because this is basically exactly what I wanted. Can’t rate a 5 star as things just aren’t what they claim on the wheel remote and the little issues with the phone mirror. Had I expected what it all says exactly it would be more of a 3 star to be honest but I wanted cheap and functional which this meets fairly well. My biggest need was the backup camera which after some internet searching was easy enough to hook up and have working. Without any documentation on the camera part I hooked it up upside down at first. If you have a higher budget there are much better options, if you need cheap or temporary this works fine. The backup camera works as it should and was my main goal, so for that and the fact it was cheaper than stand alone backup camera’s and displays I will give 4 stars as that is what I wanted it for.Edit: phone mirroring function doesn’t work after one day. Now just shows a black screen and does nothing making the unit useless for navigation completely. Was buggy to begin with but now just doesn’t work at all. Changed to three stars as now most of what the unit claims to do either doesn’t work or not very well if it does. Not expecting it to last long at this rate.

Good cheap stereo with terrible user manual.
Unit is easy to install. The installation instructions are very clear and easy to follow. The unit looks and plays very nicely on the SD, USB and Radio. Backup cam is nice and bright and easy to see even in the California sun.User interface is deliberately minimized and many functions that SHOULD be available to the user are not. They are hidden behind a factory settings firewall that requires a passcode to get past. The passcode and even the existence of these features do not exist in any of the documentation. The most notable missing feature is the logo that plays on the boot screen.By trial and error I was able to guess the code. Think 6 digits. Think Spaceballs.Amazed they could do so well with the install guide and just completely drop the ball on the user guide.

A lot for what you pay for
For the price, it is not bad at all. Was a large improvement of my cars old radio that played cassette tapes. The sound quality was better, the features seem to work fine. My biggest issue comes from having to download an app to use “car play.” Update, it still lets you use CarPlay without the app. The unit doesn’t support HD radio. Also, make sure you adjust the hue setting within display settings so you can see the graphic bars when making adjustments.Overall not a bad buy, it’s going in a 2000 Honda, so for the money it’s good but I wouldn’t use it for anything I cared about unless I was on a strict budget and desperate.

BEWARE - Crashes with Apple Car Play!!!
Every time I use Car Play, the screen will freeze up for a few minutes then shut down and turn back on. It happens once every drive, which is pretty annoying. Also, the steering wheel remote will not skip songs when using Car Play.Next is the volume adjustment. Volume “1” is so loud. This should really be volume 3 or 5, and there is no way to adjust this. The button labels on the unit are already falling off.Overall, you get what you pay for, but had the hopes that it wouldn’t be as bad as it is. I guess it will do until I can afford a brand name unit.

Amazing Stereo with Apple Carplay
I had a Boss stereo in my 2009 Chevy 2500 and it was annoying to have, not compatible with my iPhone 12. I’m glad I made this upgrade. Both screen mirroring and Apple Carplay are compatible with this stereo. With the Apple Carplay features I can get Siri for texts and calls, which is much better than bluetooth, GPS Navigation via Maps or Google Maps, and all my favorite music apps like Spotify or Pandora. The sound quality is amazing and it can be adjusted to your liking with the built in equalizer. The stereo comes with multiple inputs in the rear as well as a subwoofer and amp input.I still haven’t hooked up my reverse camera but I’m looking forward to that. A great product, Highly recommend this headunit for anyone looking to upgrade.
