SZCOBlack Cowhide 3 Tassel Leather Kilt Sporran & Belt

Good for the money, better with a few minor fixes, not *great*.
It's a sporran, and it is a nice accent to a kilt. In general, it looks and feels fine, and I am generally satisfied with it, especially for the price!Complaints:BIGGEST concern is the clips that attach the waist chain to the leather that holds the sporran to your hips... They are FLIMSY as hell and can't hold the weight of the sporran while moving for any real length of time. I've worn it twice now, once all day at a Ren Faire where I was standing and walking around all day, then at a night-time event for about 3 hours with about 30 minutes of dancing involved. With only my my car keys, ID, and cash inside it, the clips would stretch out of shape and nearly fall off. I have to stop to bend them back into place so as to not drop the sporran on the ground. I've since replaced them with heavier-duty clips from the hardware store and it's fine.Other complaints are that on the inside, the method by which the tassles are attached to the sporran is somewhat cheap and well, not nice. They are actually easy to scratch or cut your hand on if you're not careful. I covered the ends on the inside with duct-tape so they wouldn't hurt my hand when I reach inside. (Planning to find a fix for this as well that doesn't involve duct-tape at my earliest convenience.)Lastly, while the outside of the sporran looks pretty decent, upon VERY close inspection, you can tell that it's rather cheaply made. Not all that important when you're dressing thematically on a budget, but it was still a little disappointing.

Decent
Purchased this sporran as a budget dress sporran for my 8yd kilt. The sporran itself is actually better than I expected with few exceptions; the exceptions are as follows, the sporran strap is pretty much worthless if your a skinny guy like me unless you own a leather punch. The leather on the strap is very thin and of poor quality. The tassles are affixed with only a few thin gauge wire rings inside the sporran, normally this would not bother me seeing as how the tassles are only for decoration, however, if you put your wallet, pocket knife, keys etc. in the sporran, they can easily snag these rings and scratch up your personal affects, the rings can be bent out of shape releasing the tassles, or it pulls the tassles up flush with the front of the sporran. This can however be avoided by just putting a strip of gaffers tape over the rings or ggluing a piece of suede over them. Overall a good sporran for the price if you don't mind dealing with the expected flaws of a budget item.

good sporran, chain too long
the Sporran is as good as I could have expected. It looks very good but tends to lose it's elegant shape if it is too full, because the top will not totally close. In my case keys, wallet and cell phone was enough to do this. I guess a general rule of thumb is it can hold almost two fists of stuff without the top trying to stay open- as long as you dont have large hands. However, the button strap never came undone on its own, so no real problems there. The only major problem I had is that the chain was too long. I chain was supposed to fit my 30" waist. Even hanging at an angle -as it is supposed to do- and with the chain clips on opposite clips (the right chain end on the left d-clip and vice-versa) the sporran still hung too low for my comfort.All-in-all, this bundle is definitely worth the money.

Value exceeds price
I am in a pipe band and needed a new sporran belt and thought for a little more I could get my own sporran to go with it. The BELT is extra long (which unfortunately I needed) and can easily be adjusted for less traditionally built individuals. The leather on the belt looked rusty (? not sure how leather can rust) in parts, but this was a minor concern. Very happy with the belt, which is the main reason I ordered it. The sporran on the other hand was a hugely pleasant surprise. It is obviously not a $200 sporran, but t is very nice looking, a definite bargain for the price when you look at what a typical sporran costs. Overall I am very satisfied. The 5-star rating is based on a price vs. value review. I would like more detailing in the cantel and the leather in the belt to be higher quality, but you can't beat the price for what you are getting.

A little deceiving but pretty decent....
First off, the clasp is not as it appears.... the clasp is a sort of false facade, it actually closed with a press snap. Now, aside from that, itโs darn nice, could pass for a dress item, nice construction, but if youโre expecting the purse clasp top, this is not that, it just looks like a clasp top.

Nice Sporran, Belt Not So Much
The sporran itself is great for the money. The tassels and chains were perfect on mine, and if they were to become detached it doesn't look too difficult to fix. As others have described, the clips connecting the belt to the sporran aren't the greatest (very weak and easily bent), but that wasn't a huge concern for me as I purchased hangers to use with it instead. My only wish would have been that would have packed something in the sporran during shipping as it arrived a little flattened out, otherwise I'm happy with the purchase.

Nice for the money
Item came in 3 days in good condition and looks really nice. Only possible concern would be durability. Leather in the gusset area ( sides & bottom )is a little thin. Belt is kinda poor quality and stiff. No problem with the chain. Freqency of use and a little extra care will determine lifespan. In the end, I'm very pleased with it. Really a nice looking sporran for the money! Most of the complaints I've heard about; adjustments of the chain & belt are easily dealt with I.E. removing links, punching a new hole in the belt and so on; pretty normal stuff. Great for the money.
