LEGOElves Rosalyn's Healing Hideout 41187 Building Kit (460 Piece)

The tree based hideout is a unique Lego piece and has an unusually organic design. Beyond the knot like arched entry, the leaves of the hideout open sideways using a clever mechanism built into the trunk. The black dragon has rather blocky feet but it’s quite stable and it’s design is more robust for doubling as a play toy than many Lego dragons. There are a number of fun pieces on this set from all aspects of the Elves theme: a troll, a baby dragon, an adult dragon, and two elves. The design style reminds me of Aira’s air ship, another extraordinary Lego piece in the Elves collection. Everyone loves the fantasy based Lego dragons, and although they were marketed towards girls, we found Elves sets to appeal unbiased gender-wise in our family. I am sad that Lego chose to discontinue this line.::jk (rob’s spouse)

My granddaughters absolutely love the Lego Elves sets. They offer mystical creatures mostly not found in the rest of Lego realm, ranging from fierce dragons to adorable but mischievous bat – kitten creatures. The sets show good creativity and I love watching my granddaughters’ imagination go crazy as the play with their completed sets. And when I say completed, I should mention completed in a hurry. When they get a new set in hand, they don’t stop until it is finished. I hope the Lego Elves sets continue on, as my granddaughters cannot get enough of these underappreciated sets…. another dragon = another hit for the girls.

Overpriced as are all Elf LEGOs right now. But my kid did many chores, saved her money, and bought it herself so oh well! It made her happy! I recall buying an Elf Lego set from Wal Mart about 4 years ago and it wasn’t over 75$. So sad how these toys are so high but chalk it up to supply and demand, the Netflix Elves Series, and coronavirus baby!

My nine year old daughter (and 35 year old husband!) are huge fans of the LEGO Elves series, especially the dragons. They enjoy assembling these together and have to have a “dragon parade” after every new dragon is assembled. The kits are, as is par for the course with LEGO, well thought out. The dragons have held up to a fair amount of abuse by my daughter, even without the use of ”Kragle”. This particular dragon seems to one of the smallest, if not the smallest, of all of them.

What we love about Legos is that they are packaged so nicely and have very clear instructions for building the set. Though the set says ages 8 and up, my 6-year-old had no difficulty building it. We have purchased many Lego kits over the years, and we personally have never gotten a box with missing pieces. In fact, they all seem to come with a few extras.
