Garth's music is first rate. However, his DVD of greatest hits. With concert footage and video music is awesome to see. The DVD of his solo concert in Vegas. Is the highlight. He's telling you his history, experiences, family, and representation of music. It's one of the best videos that I have. It's so funny. Really gives you a unparalleled respect for how underrated Garth is. If he put out just the solo concert on its own. Well it's unbelievable. His humor will make you laugh so hard it makes you hurt and cry also. Plus you get so many music cd's too. It's worth getting and having. Everything he does is for a reason. Can't express how much joy it's brought.

November 27, 2013, CBS TV treated us to an incredible live concert by one of the best country voices ever. It was Garth, his guitar, and that voice! It was a thoroughly enjoyable two hours -- although too short. His songs were cut short and at times were just snippets of the originals. It seemed important to Garth to explain the depth of his music and "where it came from." His memories of how he grew into the musician he is today begins with his mom's blues music and his dad's strictly country classics like Haggard and Jones. At the end of the show it was announced that a DVD of the show, plus 6CD's,and one other DVD would be sold as a special set. "Blame it on my Roots" by Garth Brooks, "Five Decades of Influences." This set all sung by Garth, has his dad's music -- 11 songs of Country Classics. It has a "Blue-Eyed Soul" CD, for his mom -- "Heard it through the Grapevine", "Stand by Me", "Midnight Train to Georgia". One of my favorites is the "Classic Rock" CD. Who knew that Garth could do rock -- yeah, he can! Elvis Presley's "Superstition" is great. "The Melting Pot" CD is where everything comes together! You'll hear all the influences put together in this CD -- songs such as "Mrs. Robinson", "Wild World", "Addicted to Love", and "Don't Let me be Lonely Tonight". The final 2 CD's and DVD is called "The Ultimate Hits" and is in my opinion, what it says -- it's "the ultimate"! Songs such as "Friends in Low Places", "The Dance", "Thunder Rolls", and "Shameless"! If you like Garth Brooks you'll love this set -- it has some old friends and new surprises -- all wonderfully sung by Garth.

Great box set. Love some of the songs. Vocals are really good as you would expect. Production and music is easy listening, shmaltzzy karaoke --- and the soul of the original tracks has been lost because of the instrumentation. Worst thing though is the DVD of the Wynn concert. Comes up with "This disc does not play in your region" and I'm Region:4 --- isn't everyone !!! Anyway I have a multi-region player and have discs from America and Europe that play so why not this one ??? Aaaarrgghhh.

YA CAN'T GO WRONG WITH ANYTHING TO DO WITH GARTH BROOKS. SATISFIED

So in all honesty, roughly 60 percent of this product I didn't care about. I just wanted the greatest hits CD's that were in there. To purchase them separately on Amazon was almost $60, while this box set was $35 (come on Amazon, really?) So, I only really wanted those CD's, they are perfect, couldn't ask for more. But since I ended up with everything else, and after reading the mixed reviews on the rest of the CD's I decided to take a listen. Honestly, I think the majority, but not all, of his cover songs on the other CD's are just not good. They have a lot of background singers to cover up Garth for the notes he can't hit as well (also, he should just stay away from singing like Freddie Mercury). There is no doubt that Garth is one of the most talented musicians to ever live, and it's a shame that he couldn't cover these songs in his own way, put a bit of "country sound" on them, or change the pace (either speed them up or slow them down). But in all honesty, it does sound like he is singing karaoke and personally, I am not a fan of it. But that's just me, and some people may like that, who knows. I didn't watch, and probably won't watch, the DVD from the Wynn show (just not something I am into), so I can't judge that. Other than that, it comes with a giant flip book, it's pretty cool, the box is nice and not too large and overall it's packaged well. So for me, considering I just wanted the greatest hits CD's, it was perfect. For those who have all his CD's and wanted to hear his cover songs, it may not be worth it till it really goes on sale.

Read a review of this in Rolling Stone and they likened it to Garth doing a very bad Karaoke version of the songs, but being a huge fan I had to hear it for myself and I was NOT disappointed!! There are some amazing covers on from Jim Croces Operator (that's not the way it feels), Lynrd Skynyrd's Sweet Home Alabama, Pure Prairie League's Aimee the list goes on and on well worth the spend only downside is the DVD is region 1 but this didn't really bother me as I have a multi region DVD Player.

Ein echter Entertainer gibt sich die Ehre. Im Mittelpunkt steht natürlich seine Show der letzten drei Jahre in Las Vegas: Zwei Stunden World Class Entertainment. Wenn es ein Künstler schafft, nur mit Gitarre ausgestattet, sein Publikum 2 Stunden zu fesseln, dann hat das Respekt verdienst. Mal ganz davon abgesehen, dass es einfach Spaß macht Garth Brooks zuzusehen und seinen Geschichten zu lauschen. Darin erzählt er - begleitet von den Soundtracks seines Lebens - von seiner Kindheit, Jugend und natürlich seiner Karriere. Im Gegensatz zur Las Vegas Show - wo es alle Songs nur mit Gitarre begleitet gibt, sind die vier CD's komplett gefüllt mit eigenen Arrangements aller Hits aus der Show. Unbedingt empfehlenswert - nicht nur für echte Fans. Achtung: Die DVD's haben den Regionalcode 1. - Ein Hinweis des Verkäufers darauf wäre durchaus angebracht.
