OLD MASTERS CLEAR SATIN Finish 1 Quart

My search is over, this is my new finish of choice. No more making my own wipe-on poly or homemade Danish Oil finishes. The product goes on smooth and if done properly, without a streak, smear, or blemish. The directions are simple, but not to be taken casually. When it says to wipe off the excess, it means sooner rather than later. If you're doing a number of surfaces or individual parts, break it up into groups. The deceptive part is that it goes on so easily you'll be tempted to apply it everywhere without pausing. I found that a few pieces or sections at a time is the safest. Also, change out the rag you're removing the finish with often. My only criticism is they do not offer a semi-gloss. I'm presuming the rheology modifier is silica or clay and imparts the satin luster. Otherwise, I'm absolutely, completely satisfied with this product. 5 stars.

I have been using Old Masters Gel Polyurethane for about 2 years on my most important projects and getting great results. To get great results with this gel poly requires doing a great job of sanding....at least 320 grit. I have never liked to use a spray gun, but I want a quality appearance. Old Masters Gel Polyurethane clear satin gives me both. It is a little expensive but I tried one other wipe on poly product and was not happy with the results, so I will stick with what I know works.

I have tried many different finishing products and this one is by far the easiest to apply and makes for a nice smooth finish. It is expensive but worth the price.

This polyurethane works amazing, so much better than a wipe on poly. It’s thick and easy to control and work with. I use a rag to apply it. I’ve used it on many products and find it far superior to GF Arm R Seal, and any other brand wipe on sealer. This sealer is thick, doesn’t drip and is a true wipe on oil based sealer. The satin sheen is spot on.

Will not use another product after using this! Hard finish just after one coat. VERY easy to use. A little goes a long way.

Easy to use and looks amazing

I love this polyurethane! Apply it with a chip brush and rub off the excess until it’s almost dry with a lint free paper towel. This leaves a thin film that dries in about 4 hours so you can apply multiple coats in a day. The gel doesn’t run on vertical surfaces like liquid poly. I have found that three coats provides hard and durable finish that doesn’t water mark. It works very well for furniture and wood work.
