Looks nice, but assembly was challenging
I think the product looks nice for what I wanted. It is sturdy. I am a larger person and feel comfortable sitting on it to put my shoes on.I love the grey color of the cushion. Works perfect in my space.I was able to get the bench together but ran into a few problems. First, some of the holes that hold the cam locks were drilled just slightly too big and the locks would fall out when I tried to position it to put 2 pieces together. I just had to turn it upside down so the cam locks were stationary and I brought the bolts to them. That way they did not fall out. When I put the bottom piece on, 1 of the locks did fall out and I didn't realize it until I had all 8 bolts and dowels lined up properly and the bottom piece on. It took multiple tries to get to that point so I wasn't going to take it apart again to put that lock back in. I just left it out. Also 2 of the 8 screws used to secure the bottom piece on did not grab onto anything. When I put them into the pre-drilled spots they just fell into the hole completely and did not catch on anything when I tried to screw them in. The other 6 worked just fine. When I turned the piece back upright, those screws fell back out of the holes. I just left them out and didn't use them. Also, there are 10 small "feet" that you are supposed to nail onto the bottom, but there are no pre-drilled starter holes so it was very hard getting them started and nailed in. Many of them bent as I was trying to nail them in. I only used 6 of the 10 because the others bent. There was a backing piece and small nails to use to attach it but it was not included anywhere in the directions. Luckily I've put enough of these together I knew how to put the backing on. Again, no pre-drilled holes for the nails. Also, 2 of the nails did not have a head on them, so they were unusable. The last problem I had was the pegs for the adjustable shelf. I went to put the peg in the hole and there was nothing to stop it from going into the hole completely. So now the peg is in the hole all the way and no part sticks out for the shelf to rest on. I have no idea how to get that peg out again. We tried turning it on the side and banging on it hoping the peg would fall out of the hole. No luck. We tried to pull it out with a magnet, no luck. So now the adjustable shelf is only held in place by 3 pegs so it drops in one corner.Overall, I would probably not buy this piece again or anything from this manufacturer just because of the multiple issues with trying to put it together.

Decent value, but instructions could be improved
Overall, the LGHM shoe storage bench seems worth the price, and we are happy with the final build. Our bench arrived quickly with all necessary parts, the finished product seems structurally sound, and appears as depicted in the online advertisement. However, we agree with other reviewers that the instructions are lacking. In our case, the instructions misleadingly directed us to place panels (7 and 8) in the wrong direction. And as others have mentioned, the instructions lack information on applying the back panel for the bench - we left ours off since the bench still felt sturdy even lacking this back brace. As long as you you are careful and/or comfortable working through these issues, the bench should come together nicely. So far, the bench works great for our mudroom. It feels stable and supportive to sit on, and even the smaller cubbies accommodate my shoes (size 11 sneakers). As long as it holds up over time, we will be happy with this purchase.

Directions were not accurate
When putting this together the directions say the some boards need to be facing the opposite direction they actually should be; if I had followed the directions I would have had half the particle board side up front instead of all white painted covered side, thankfully I caught it soon enough that it wasn't difficult to correct before getting it all out together. I put it together by myself in about 3.5 hours, probably could've done it in less than 2hrs if the directions were more accurate. Otherwise this bench is working perfectly for what I needed and I'd highly recommend it.

Looks good, not for people with bigger feet
I have tiny feet, but my boyfriend is a size 9, and his shoes are a little snug on the height of the cubbies. Was a little sad that my cowboy boots didn’t fit in the cabinet, but it’s still a great shoe rack. Looks very nice near the front entrance

Good bench just needs better instructions
I bought the bench for my mudroom and I’m a fairly heavy guy so I was happy to see that it could hold over 400 pounds. The bench is sturdy and it looks good and doesn’t wobble when you sit on it. The issue is that if I didn’t have experience putting together pre-made furniture, I wouldn’t have known how to finish the project based off of the instructions they gave. They gave you all of the hardware needed to complete the project but the manual doesn’t explain how to put on the back board or the plastic bottom caps. There are also no perforated holes for the last two missing steps which means you have to eyeball where you’re nailing them down. Not to say it’s hard to figure it out but if you’ve never done it before, this might make it tricky for you. So if it’s your first time putting together your own furniture, be ready to ask a friend for help when building this one.

Difficult to Assemble, looks OK
My husband and I consider ourselves RTA experts. We purchase a lot of furniture from Amazon, Wayfair, etc. and put it together with ease. The instructions for this product are horrible and should be redone. The pre-drilled holes we received did not match the images. We took a stab at our own way to build and luckily it worked out. There are no instructions for some of the parts like the feet or the back piece. Further the sides of some pieces are finished on both front and back making it difficult to tell where to place. We ended up not putting the back piece on currently because of the double sided finish you would have to nail into the melamine which can cause splitting. The overall product looks good. It isn’t super sturdy (and yea everything got to the right place and we are confident in the construction) but seems to be good enough for its purpose. We have 5 kids and lots of shoes so I like the large bench and the many cubbies. Shipping took forever and kept changing (it was delayed twice because the seller couldn’t get it to FedEx). If there isn’t anything else out there that matches what you need… this product will do. But there are certainly shoe cubbies with better instructions, faster shipping, and even higher quality (the pre drilled holes weren’t the best and there was a lot of wiggling needed to get things to fit in the holes provided) for the same or a better price. For us, we needed the organization this provided and it will work for now. But I am interested to find out how long it will last and if the top cover proves easy to clean as kids are messy!

Too many little things wrong.
It took about 3 hours to assemble this bench. From the outside it looks OK. Beware of page 3 assembly instructions. I would rough assemble the unit on it's back first without any fasteners to make sure the boards are in the proper position. They use nylon inserts so be careful not to strip them. Not sure why they did not use metal inserts. Some of the holes for the wooden pegs were drilled too deep, so when you assemble the two boards the strength is compromised. Some of the cams do not lie flush when assembled, and therefore the veneer covers do not lie flat. The color of the veneer covers do not match the wooden components. FYI, put the veneer covers over the cams while you are assembling the pieces, if you wait until the whole unit is assembled it will be much harder to put those covers in place. The unit appears to be pretty sturdy. This unit came packaged very well. Overall, it is just an OK pieces of furniture.

I'd rather put ikea together while drunk and blindfolded!
So when the reviews kindly say "instructions could be improved" that is truly the nicest of ways to say a very sick and twisted individual drew these up, with the soul purpose of testing your patience, intelligence, and anger control. I'm not normally one to have too much issues following even bad instructions (maybe I should have tried the video instead) but after doung a dry run, and still having to disassembling this three times, following the instructions to the best of my mental capacity, and finally getting it together... I'd rather assemble the Korean version of ikea furniture while drunk and blindfolded. All in all, it's a beautiful bench, suits my needs, sturdy, and functional... however I'd rather be strung up by my toes than ever assemble one again. If you purchase this, the finished product is worth it, but good luck and gods speed on assembling it!

assembling instructions is not detailed enough, but good bench
the assembly instructions are not detailed enough, one illustration is backwards. if the panels were at least labeled "top" or "bottom" that would have been extremely helpful. Since they are only numbered, I had to take this apart 3x's after finally figuring out top & bottom was not interchangeable. BTW, the vertical panels with the large screw holes all should be at the bottom, even though they are not all facing the same direction. Other than that, the panels were at least easy to take apart and put back together. When assemble the rack is sturdy, the cubby are great for sneakers and flip-flops. the largest cubby can fit 1pair of calf-high boots. My wedge-ankle high sandals do not fit the small cubby, but do fit the medium cubby.

Good value
This shoe cabinet is pretty decent for the money. Although, I doubt it would take too much abuse so I wouldn't recommend it for families with kids. I let the boots and shoes dry out on the rug before putting them in the cabinet as I think any water would wreck the particle board. I had a new cover made for my cushion as the one that came with it didn't match my decor but I think it would be fine for most.

Absolutely love this
Not the highest quality out there. But definitely a good bang for the buck. We did have a little tweaking to do to fit our needs. But it was minor and known before we purchased it.Perfect place for the grands to take their shoes on and off and even get them up off my floor in their own cubbies.Fits perfectly in it's spot. Looks great. Great sitting height (we are short though lol). Hubby put it together quickly. Quality seems to be standing strong against our grands.Daughter is looking to get one since she has had an opportunity to check ours out.Over all a happy purchase

Sturdy and good looking, but assembly instructions are terrible
The biggest problem with the instructions was nowhere it shows which edge of the planks faces front or top. You just have to figure it out yourself and if anything goes wrong you have to take it apart and re-do it.Other than that, it’s quite sturdy, looks great and hopefully will last for long time
