Grimms' Fairy Tales (Dover Children's Evergreen Classics) Paperback – June 12, 2019

One of the best prints of these fairy tales I ever seem.... Great classic story.... "Illustrated Junior Library" is one of the best compilations you can buy or find anywhere. There is a reason it has been published for decades. .. "illustrated Junior Library" is slightly abridged/condensed for a teenager audience. If you want the original in the old language with archaic slang and verse then look for an older edition, yet this is very close, but it's been edited from it's original to bring grammar to modern ages and appeal to teenage readers.

Me and my spouse purchased this as a gift for his mother of German descent and she absolutely loved it

This was a gift for my son who has developed an interest in reading classics of literature in the dual language format. This was a very affordable version of the Grimms' Fairy Tales in that format.

I had this book as a child and decided to get it again. The stories are straight-forward and easy to read, but the illustrations are what I remember most about this book. Quite a lovely book. I'm glad to have it again.

Bravo to Naxos for recording these tales in their original, unvarnished form. Admittedly dark at times, but, then again, so is life-- no matter how much we try to sugarcoat, better to prepare our kids what lies ahead with the help of magical examples and traditional folktales. These will bring out the kid by the campfire in all. Kudos to Laura Paton's animated readings. A great pleasure to listen to at bedtime, with or without the kids.

After I read each story, I had to stop and think. Were they funny, did they give me a lesson or was there more to the story than I first thought? They turned out to be like stories in the Bible that seem to be teaching me something, but the meaning changes as I think about them. Once I started reading each of the stories, I had to keep reading to the end.

THIS IS THE WORST THING I HAVE EVER READ! I FELT LIKE I WAS HAVING A SEIZURE WHILE READING IT. I WAS UNABLE TO READ THIS NONSENSE. GRAMMAR, PUNCTUATION AND THE WORDING WAS SO OFF I WAS SHOCKED THAT SOMEONE WOULD SELL THIS GARBAGE. I WILL ASK FOR MY $3.99 REFUND!

Great little book, my husband is learning German and loves this concept

Most of the tales are in different versions in German and English. The German text is probably Grimms' original, while the English texts are different versions. Occasionally sentences are different, text added or missing. In Snowwhite's tale, for instance, the Evil Queen dies of shock while in the German text she is forced to dance in red hot shoes until she dies.Useful for learning German only inasmuch the reader is able and willing to spot and translate for himself major differences.

The real thing is that I did not star reading bet I will say it well be very good book to read and I will be saying that it is going to be very happy to buy this and the quality is nice the paper brand is very good and the book look fresh and new to read.I am happy to say that I like to read books. The amazon is grate
