Cool Bag, I Feel Cool Wearing It
This backpack is going to outlive me, I'm sure of it. That's basically what I was looking for in a backpack when I found this one. It's rugged, large, and in charge. It's understated enough that it doesn't grab anyone's attention immediately (just a big, black backpack) but as soon as you look at it for more than a second or two, you notice all the details, the quality of the buckles and straps, and the cool texture of the canvas. Even completely empty it has a nice heft to it, and all the stitching looks tough and strong.I've already lived out of this backpack for about a month and a half, and I've fallen in love with it. It can hold an insane amount of stuff when you load it up, but the rolltop design looks just as good when it only has a few things in it. Fully stuffed it is a little too big to fit under the seat in front of you on an airplane, but fits just fine in the overhead bin. I dropped the extra money for the optional sternum strap. For this price point, it's pretty annoying that it doesn't just come with one out of the box, but I am glad I have it, it makes the fully-stuffed bag much easier to carry for extended periods of time.Great bag, durable as all hell, I'm glad I have it. Might look into getting Defy's smaller "daypack" backpack as well in the future.

Awesome bag, great styling and premium materials
So let me start by saying I’m a bit of a bag junkie. I’ve owned GR1’s, a Frost River Summit Summit Expedition pack, TAD Litespeed, TAD Fastpack EDC, and an MIS rolltop. I’ve loved all of these bags and equally love the fact all are made in the USA. However, the Verbockel takes the cake. The materials are premium, the fit is great, the size is just right for one bag travel, and the look is unique. This bag straddles the line perfectly and doesn’t come off appearing too tacticool and blends while standing out just enough given its one of a kind AustriAlpin buckles (I added the sternum strap). The Martexin waxed canvas and YKK aqua guard zippers are the right touch making this bag excel in most if not all climates. It’s durable and if packed right the weight is more than manageable due the 14.5 oz canvas. I love this bag and will be stalking more of your products in the future.

For clout, velcro attachment system is awesome, quality mil-spec nylon, it's the best!
I bought two of these. One for my Tumi Nathan and Tumi London backpack. These are well made! I recommend buying an elastic 1" strap keeper to reduce danglage, which you can kinda see in my picture. The cobra buckle is a huge step up from a basic plastic buckle. It's hefty and it's satisfying. The mil-spec webbing is smooth and premium! Not generic or cheap webbing. Love that it says Defy on the strap end, which looks cool. My Tumi bags are so much more comfortable now. This is the best sternum strap hands down. Better than Hanks Surplus' cobra offering. The photo also features the Defy Bandit facemask which I also recommend.

Could use a tweak here and there but would recommend
This is an amazing product that adds a certain cooler look to any tactical backpack and adds an amazing buckle to it as well. Now the reason why I dropped a star. I added this item to a 5.11 rush 12 backpack and boy does it look amazing BUT their was two things I did not like. 1. The female side of the buckle is missing about two inches of material , (give or take an inch) at the end of the female side of the buckle making the buckle placement to either the left or right of your chest depending on how you placed the sternum strap. I personally would of preferred the buckle to end up as close to the center of the chest as possible. The 2nd thing I didn’t like is that the part of this sternum strap that attaches to the backpacks shoulder straps are not equal. What do I mean with this is that the ends of the sternum straps, the female side of the buckle is much bigger and wraps around the shoulder strap perfectly. The male side of the buckle has a smaller more tighter fitting sternum strap end, making it a little harder and tighter to place around the shoulder strap. If you would make both the sternum strap ends the same as the end attached to the female side of the buckle it would of been perfect.

Lint magnet
I had to return...it really was a lint magnet . A shame because the storage and bullet were great. It's sturdy ..but couldn't handle the lint.

Supurb quality and cool astetic
Everything about this bag screams quality in both materials and craftsmanship. The straps are great and the long dual carry handles are a nice addition and come in very handy. The cobra buckle is easy to use and closes with a satisfying click. The water bottle pockets are large and can hold a 32 ounce Yeti. The addition of the zipper makes the roll top design much easier to use. The bag is large and can hold everything I need and more but is quite manageable. I like the flexibility of its design and the cool overall look. This bag should last for many years and is worth the price of admission. I could not be happier and highly recommend The DEFY VerBockel backpack.

Rugged yet sleek, best backpack ever
What a solid, sleek design. Just a joy to use every day: the heavy click of the buckle, the reliable feel of the straps, the setup of the internal compartments. The two tote-style handles are the best. I would recommend getting an extra sternum strap with Cobra buckle for cycling from Defy's separate website. Also: this backpack is quite large and voluminous, which is great.

Rugged and comfortable
I've used other DEFY bags in the past, and I've always enjoyed how well-built they are, and this one is no exception. I use it all the time for groceries, and it works great for travel as well - it comfortably fits in a plane's overhead compartment; no need wheel around an annoying suitcase around an airport.

No as advertised, a duffel bag showed up. Very disappointing
I was worried as soon as the photo changed once I placed the order. But I was hoping I was wrong. I wasn’t.
