Here are some impressions having just received mine. First: the size. I have a 6" wrist, thin bone structure, and this is the absolute largest watch I could wear. The case is elongated to a huge 52 mm from lug to lug, but with only a 20 mm lug width. However, the dial portion of the case is only 45 mm, so the watch wears smaller than its dimensions suggest. These proportions, on a tonneau shaped case, are classy and flattering but no one would ever regard a watch this size as dainty.The dial has a very 3D appearance, which has white applied stick indices, recessed chronometer markings in lieu of a chapter ring, and a raised tachymeter ring that is under the flat sapphire crystal (vs. on a bezel like a dive watch). White markings on a black background are very high-contrast and legible.I find diver-style fold-over deployant clasps easier to manage than the butterfly-style double deployant clasp on the "President" style bracelet, but it's solid and rattle-free with solid endlinks. The chronometer pushers actuate with crisp clicks, tactile feedback that is not often found on chronometers at this price point.Finally, the mixture of finishes gives the Moon Pilot an interesting look that distinguishes it from typical brushed steel watches. The case has a satin bead-blasted finish, the pushers and crown are polished, and the bracelet is brushed. I think people will either love or hate this unusual mixture of finishes. But the matte case finish helps offset the large size, which is too often associated with overly bright, blingy, hypermasculine watches (e.g. Nixon 51-30). Also, the flat sapphire with barely visible chamfer is not flush with or slightly recessed below a bezel, but is exposed about a mm so may be more vulnerable to dings. No one will mistake this for an Omega Speedmaster, but it's a solid watch for the price.

Bought in November 2018 and it's still crazy accurate (of note, still haven't had to change the battery) and still just as beautiful to look at. I love that it's a sapphire crystal cause it's extra hardy and never scratches despite multiple accidental bumps from daily use. The raise crystal is district for sure, and maybe not be to everyone's taste. It is a large and heavy watch though, so if you've got dainty wrists, this is not your watch. Totally worth the money.

Not sold or marketed but gifted to an Apollo 15 Astronaut to take from Earth to the Moon. Bulova engineered it to NASA specifications for a moon watch. This is why the Apollo 11 Omega Speedmaster dial looks similar to this Apollo 15 Bulova dial. All watches submitted to NASA had to meet lunar conditions and function as a tool watch. To serve as backup timing devices. A unique history behind this updated new edition. How it made it to the moon and back in 1971 and then sold in 2015 for over 1 million dollars. This is the 2016 modern retail version, with features of that prototype.I own the bracelet model, and the quality is high end. The "story" behind this watch is very important to me. Whether it's a Cartier, Vostok, Omega, Seiko, Bulova, Rolex... Some of the most iconic watches have unique stories. A watch that recalls the Apollo 15 mission to the moon. And now an elegant modern version that we can wear on rotation is unique and special.The bracelet model is awesome and fits my 6-7/8" to 7" wrist size just right. Regarding the lugs... The pin placement on this model is closer to the watch case allowing the bracelet links to articulate closer to my wrist and does not look big at all. A G-Shock DW6900 has more wrist presence. Even the legendary "Original" Calibre 2100 has the same wrist presence on my size. And I love how those watches look on my wrist too. The bracelet is beautiful and at 20mm is the right size for bending my wrist and not digging into my skin. The face is extremely easy to read. I think it's due to the length of the Hour and Minute hands and being white on a matte deep black dial. Good moon specifications here NASA, very easy to read. I recommend the bracelet model for your collection and hope my review has helped with your decision. Update - I bought a Di-Modell Rallye strap. Now I have 2 looks. Curved Spring Pins were not needed.

Esse relógio tem uma bela história... Já foi à lua no pulso de um Astronauta, durante a missão Apollo 15 em 1971, quando o Omega de David Scott deu problema. Logicamente que essa peça não é 100% igual a que foi para a lua, porém a Bulova fez uma bela homenagem. Relógio grande para pulsos mais largos, qualidade de construção muito boa para seu preço, o mostrador tem detalhes incríveis, um dos melhores que já pude ver pessoalmente. Precisão absurda, pulseira de ótima qualidade e confortável, mostrador lindo que permite ótima visualização, design atemporal e de bom gosto, um excelente cronógrafo, com uma história muito bacana e longe do preço de um Speedmaster.

Relojes, hay muchos. Y creo que este tiene un lugar muy especial en el mundo de la horologia. Siendo uno de los pocos relojes que han estado en el espacio, este es la opción para aquellos que gustan de coleccionar relojes.A simple vista, se ve sencillo en el diseño. La carátula negra hace contrastar las manecillas y marcas de color blanco. Estas, tienen función luminosa con un tono índigo que permiten la lectura en condiciones de poca luz. Solo hay que exponerlo a luz natural para que puedan brillar.Esto hace buen juego con la caja metálica de 45 mm. A mi en lo personal, me gustan los relojes grandes. Quizá a muchos no les guste este tamaño porque deriva en ser un reloj pesado. Sin embargo, un reloj de calidad se va a notar al tener un peso más allá de lo que uno podría estar acostumbrado. Pero al poco tiempo de llevarlo puesto, ya no se nota.Su movimiento (o también maquinaria) es una muestra de la precisión de Bulova. Se lee en la esfera de los segundos que es de 262 kHz. ¿Eso que significa? Que su diapasón es de alta frecuencia y eso le da una mayor precisión. Algunas marcas suizas tienen una frecuencia mayor, pero el precio tiene la misma cifra que pagarías por éste pero con la diferencia de que son dólares. Una característica de este movimiento es que el segundero es de "barrido". Esto es que la manecilla gira constantemente y no brinca de segundo en segundo como la mayoría de los relojes.Yo he elegido esta versión de correa metálica sobre la versión de piel con la correa de tela tipo OTAN. Prefiero las correas de brazalete a las de piel por su duración y resistencia. Fue sencillo de ajustarlo a mi muñeca (tengo herramientas de relojero).Y si muchos se preguntan porque habría que pagar mas por un reloj ya que todos dan la misma hora. Creo que la respuesta es la historia detrás del reloj. Como ya lo he mencionado, es de los pocos relojes que han estado asociados a la carrera espacial. Solo los Omega y ciertos relojes soviéticos han logrado estar en esta categoría. Este reloj, réplica del que uso el comandante David Scott en la misión Apolo 15. Después de haber tenido un problema con su Omega Speedmaster, uso este reloj para la tercera caminata en en la luna. Esto convierte a este reloj al ser el único reloj de uso privado que estuvo en el espacio. Los otros, los Omega, eran propiedad de la NASA. Y este hito de encuentra grabado en la parte trasera del reloj donde se ha grabado que fue la misión Apolo 15, la fecha de la misión, actividad extravehicular 3 con su fecha, el lugar donde alunizaron y las coordenadas.Con su caja de metal, tapa de rosca, cristal de zafiro anti rayaduras y antireflejante, resistencia a 50 metros que lo hace apto para exponerlo al agua en condiciones normales, es sin duda, una buena adquisición si uno gusta de coleccionar relojes. Y si no, su estilo clásico, combinación de acero con carátula negra hacen que se pueda usar en situaciones formales o un estilo mas deportivo.Ademas, cuenta con cronografo y taquimetro con una precisión de 1/10 de segundo. El acero empleado es de grado quirúrgico (316L).Así que, si deseas tener en tu muñeca una pieza especial, esta es la opción. Porque mas que un reloj, tiene toda una historia detrás que sin duda atraerá las miradas. Por lo general, a nadie le importa que reloj traigas, es más, si traes reloj o no. Pero en algunas ocasiones me han pedido de los mostrara.Pienso, ademas, que como regalo es algo muy especial. Quizá para una graduación, un cumpleaños, un aniversario, San Valentín o Navidad, es un gran toque. Y eso es lo especial de los relojes, que como regalos, de dan un valor sentimental mucho mayor.Estoy muy contento con este reloj. Y que decir de la atención de Amazon que lo pedí en la mañana y en la tarde ya lo tenía en mis manos.
