Der Hobbit
Das Schriftbild ist leider etwas klein geraten. Mit größeren Lettern wäre es angenehmer zu lesen. Als Tolkienfan und mit einem Abschluss im Hebraicum kommt es natürlich ins Regal ))

Looks great in my Hobbit collection
I bought this book because I collect editions of The Hobbit.Too bad I cannot read it and comment on the translation.I can comment on the edition though. It's a "Print on Demand" book but the quality is acceptable. I guess the images on the covers are from kids painting Bilbo and the his adventures, but because I can't read the book I cannot be sure, hehe.

An Antoyshung (A Disappointment)
Translating "The Hobbit" into Yiddish was obviously a labor of love, and quite a feat. Unfortunately, as the reviewer in the Yiddish Forverts pointed out, the language used in this translation is awkward and obscure, making it a very difficult slog for even the most experienced Yiddishist, let alone a child or a beginning reader. If you're looking for a children's classic in Yiddish, for a child or an adult reader, try "Vini der Pu" or "Der kleyne prints" instead.

Yiddish?
Clearly an enormous undertaking and an earnest effort but.... Der Hobit is more a relexification using words found in Yiiddish dictionaries than a translation into anything resembling comprehensible Yiddish.
