Sort of Cheap Feeling, but Not Horrible
Well, if you ignore the fact that the one that came to me was very phallic looking and I giggled like a Beavis and Butthead school child when I saw it, it's an okay product, I guess. I couldn't help but be a bit disappointed in it though. I read that it was pumice, and it does HAVE pumice on it, but it's not MADE of pumice. It's made of plastic. And it only has two strips of pumice on it while the other two strips are just smooth, hard plastic, with a mold seem. It's very lightweight. The connector to screw it on the side of the cage is very high quality and tightens well and it's safe for any bird, larger or small to stand on, but the 'roughness' of it isn't enough to do much for the feet. It works great for beaks, I suppose, but my conure won't do his beak on it and it's not helping his feet.We have a goffin's Cockatoo, though, and it's too small for him to wrap his feet around.I think you're better off looking at one of the concrete perches and probably skipping this. t might be okay for really small birds, like a finch or a budgie, maybe a cockatiel, but anything much bigger than that, I don't think it's big enough or rough enough to really do anything for their feet, and it's too small around for the bigger ones to stand on and use for their beaks.Plus, it just really has a 'cheap' look and feel to it.Lastly, the one I got was purple, a rich, dark purple color. I wasn't aware they would come in different colors. I like the purple, so no problems there, but if you're buying this because you like the light blue color in the picture, know that you might not get a blue one.

Our conure's talons were less sharp in a week's time
We are Indian and the pet care industry here is less developed. Finding stores and vets that supply good products and care for birds is a challenge. Knowing that care for bird talons would be hard to come by, we ordered this during a visit to the U.S.Despite some warnings from books, we find this to be very suitable for our green-cheeked conure. Though most of his perches are natural wood cut from our neighborhood trees, this is now the perch he uses when he eats from his seed dish. The top is smooth (which reduces the chance that the perch will cut foot pads) while the sides are pumice for the nails. The bird took to it in a matter of days. And his talons were noticeably less sharp within a week. Not a replacement for proper trimming by someone with expertise, but certainly helpful in giving our bird routine care.Cleaning the perch of dried droppings is also much easier than expected.Only (minor) gripe is that the perch came in a color we did not expect. The picture may be blue but ours is teal that isn't ugly but a little garish.UPDATE: Six months later, we've actually ordered a second because we were so happy with it. The bird's talon's remain less-than-fully sharp and he has no problem sitting on it, pacing back and forth and generally being cute. So I stand by my endorsement.

good perches for the price
For the price these aren't bad perches. It was a $6 add on item so I don't expect that much out of it. You get what you pay for and a solid perch for large birds is going to cost more than this. I have had plenty of solid perches that the screw was not lined up or the bird picked one side to chew and it came apart in a month so that's not even guaranteed. The size is definitely around 8" long and perfect diameter for my cockatiel. It is possible the seller is not paying close attention to what they package though. I actually got a 3 pack in different colors.

Good perch, but as others have said, it's not pumice.
Like a lot of other reviewers have pointed out, this perch isn't actual pumice stone, but plastic with a gritty coating (which could be made from pumice for all I know). That being said, for the price I like it. It seems sturdy and is reasonably attractive for the money. I do think it will accomplish its intended purpose of exercising my budgies' feet and wearing his nails down a bit. If the title said "Sand-coated plastic perch," this would be a five star item. As is, I'm taking one star off for the lack of clarity.

Perfect and comfortable for Lovebirds!
This perch is great! I had another different kind of perch in the cage and "Romeo" who uses mime pointed out this perch telling me he wanted this one. We already had one. He wanted a second one.I purchased it and after seeing it, he and Princess uses it. They sit on it and wipe their beak on it. They sit long periods of time. This is the oneRomeo picked out himself (pointing out another one we had in the cage).

Works to blunt sharp claws
The Sweet Feet Safety Pumice perch is definitely blunting my parrots nails. This is one of 6 perches she has in her cage and one of two of this type (two different diameters). I placed them in areas that she uses occasionally which seems to be enough to blunt the nails. Will update in 6 months.

It's a love/hate perch
Birds either love or hate these kinds of perches, and mine would rather poop on it than use it to buff her feet. The color is random, which is a bit of a bummer. Luckily, mine came in purple, which is my favorite color.Everyone says it looks like a dildo though. Which is fair. It does.

To big for my cage
We bought it because it looks good, and wanted good quality. We have a standard cage for a cockatiel & it wont fit on the wire cage, properly. We went to the pet store to buy food and all the cages are the same. It would be better in a large parrot cage. Good quality and bird do fine on it, out side cage on a wooden stand we have for them.
