Absolutely perfect. My favorite kitchen purchase of 2022.
The quality of these pans has to be seen and felt to be believed, especially for the incredibly reasonable price. They are immediately family heirlooms.I seasoned them right away with cold-pressed flaxseed oil (without antioxidant additives), which is the best oil for cookware seasoning, and they make it so easy to turn out perfect dashimaki tamago or tamagoyaki, with absolutely no sticking, if you follow the traditional method. The small pan is perfect for one egg, the "medium" pan for 2 eggs. 11/10, a joy to use. To clean, a quick rinse to remove excess oil, dry with kitchen paper, and add a bit of salt to soak up any remaining oil, then brush the salt out with kitchen paper after a short while and store. My only criticism is not that the owner's manual is all in Japanese (as one might expect, use your smartphone camera with Google Translate for a good enough translation, if you can't read Japanese), but that the directions for initial seasoning in it are rather wasteful of oil. I used a light coating of flaxseed oil, heated that over low heat until dull, then repeated the process. After that, I just cooked with them normally, using a neutral cooking oil like rice bran oil or untoasted sesame oil.The secret to tamagoyaki is using a little bit of oil, and making sure the pan is hot enough to immediately cook the egg mixture when you pour it in the pan. The thin material of these pans ensures they conduct heat very quickly, but also demands you keep the heat relatively low to prevent warping.I will definitely be purchasing more cookware from Takumi Japan.

Poor quality
Barely 1 month of use and the coating is coming off. We only used wooden spoons for cooking and didn’t use any steel wool to clean it either.

Light weight
I have been looking for a light weight cast iron pan. This one meet everything I expected, heat up fast and nonstick when I fry eggs. It can be for everyday use. Also, I really like the size.

Expensive, but made well.
Four stars because of the price. Super expensive but it is really well made and the shipping from Japan was super quick. Heats really evenly and cleans up easily as well.

Follow the instructions for great results.
As one might expect, all of the documentation is in Japanese. A quick scan with a translation app gives you all you need for great results. Follow the process and keep an eye on heat and oil and the eggs dont stick. Even with it being my first time making tamagoyaki I was able to get really good results.
