A beautiful device that punches way above its price point
I took a chance in order this kettle will be before there were any reviews. I can't say how happy I am that I did so. It is a beautiful device that punches way above its price point. The kettle itself is very well made with thick stainless steel that holds its temperature well when taking off the burner. The well designed spout allows for excellent control when pouring drip coffee, yet it has an inner diameter that's big enough to allow for fast pouring when needed. The handle is simple yet elegant. The lid fits into place with a satisfying seal that promises to hold in the heat. The controls are simple and intuitive. There's a dial for selecting temperature that's also a button. Push that button to wake up the device, turn the dial to set the desired temperature, then push again to start heating. It remembers the last used temperature so the second step is often not needed. If the dial is turned while the device is actively heating the set temperature changes without needing to push the button again. There are two other buttons. One of them is used to toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius and the other to to start the hold temperature function. Is also possible to silence the beeping that sounds when the water has reached a set temperature by holding the Fahrenheit/celsius button down for 3 seconds. This thing heats water fast and it has a very good regulator. It never goes past the set temperature by more than 1° and keeps it within one degree when holding. I love that it automatically holds the temperature for 10 minutes from the point it reaches the set temperature and continues to hold when you take the kettle off the heater and then put it back on, within a reasonable amount of time.Negatives? I can only think of two and they are very nitpicky. First, I don't see why it shouldn't start heating immediately when when the start button is pushed the first time, since you can still adjust the temperature while it's heating. Second, the kettle doesn't always slip onto the base without a little jiggering. A little more roundedness at the top of the knob that the kettle slips onto might help guide it into place easier. But again, I'm really searching for things complain about here.

Extra Features a MUST HAVE!
The tea kettle came on time, as to be expected by Amazon (Product shipped from one end for the country to the next in two days... during a pandemic...). The controls are easy to use and the product looks and feels great. Below is my full list of pros/cons to the product:Pros:1. The tea kettles heats up quickly. Along with the hold feature, it is a must have when you are preparing your coffee setup.2. Accurate temperature control. I tested the temperature several times after I received it and they came out to be within 0.5 degrees. I am hoping this is maintained through the left of the kettle.3. Unlike my prior kettle (bodum gooseneck kettle), the handle is firm and does not show signs of stress while using. My prior kettle had a flat plate bent into a handle with a cork handle. I had to hold it close to the end of the handle for fear of breaking it.Overall, the tea kettle is a solid product and one that I see using multiple times a day for the near future. Now, on to the cons. The cons list is more of a pet peeve’s list since the product works well for what i plan to use it for.Cons:1. The instructions for how to clean the kettle is non-existent. Moreover, the instruction manual tells you to not apply soap to the outside for fear of damaging the product. Since you will be adding water and boiling it to 212 degrees, this is not really a problem.2. the sound effects were excessive. Every time I took the kettle off it beeped, then when I put it on it beeped. Luckily they have a setting where it can be stopped (thank goodness for MUTE!).3. Lastly, I felt the price was relatively high for what the product is... It heats water... Now if you throw in the electronics for temperature control and some simple functions, I can see a little price increase for added convenience. However, a $40 increase for the base line gooseneck kettle for those features, I would consider alternatives. Now, I purchased the product because I had the money, but for a conscientious consumer, I would have settled for the cheaper options.

Warning: Less useful for dark tea drinkers.
I bought this kettle because it looked really nice and has some great features like per-degree temp adjustment, no internal plastic, alarm-disable, etc... The handle is kinda cheap plastic, but it still looks OK, the kettle works well enough and heats fast.My main criticism is that it's mainly designed for pour-over coffee drinkers. This is evidenced by the fact that the temperature hold feature only works at temperature settings of 205F or less (which is basically the max temp you'd want to brew coffee). The instruction manual notes: "212F temperature will not automatically keep warm for 10 minutes (automatic keepwarm mode is designed for users who brew tea or coffee to enhance the experience)". Well, contrary to the manufacturer's snooty statement, any tea enthusiast will tell you that many high-end teas are intended to be brewed at greater than 205 degrees. So this effectively means that if you intended to brew a tea like a dark oolong or pu'erh, you can't use any hold functions unless you settle for a lower brew temp. Also, the manual only notes this restriction for 10m auto-hold, but it doesn't work for manual 2h hold either. You cannot hold a temperature of over 205F with this device, period. If that matters to you, buy something else.
