Used this to fix my old Xbox. It worked great.

Hi, my original Xbox One did not read discs anymore. I ordered this laser assembly and installed it and then my Xbox One was fixed and could again read discs. You'll need special plastic pry tools and special screwdriver bits to get the Xbox One open and you must watch some "Xbox One Teardown" videos on YouTube to see what to do, but in the end it worked out just fine. If you have poor vision and/or are not good with your hands, I would not recommend you try this repair yourself - otherwise go for it - I did and am very happy with the outcome...

This was pretty much one the easiest console repairs I have ever done and I have been fixing my own consoles since PS1 days. A ton easier than the 360. The only part of the whole repair that was a pain was getting the ribbon back on the front of the console but I figured out the trick to that in no time. This repair was on an xbox one original version so i cannot speak to the ease or compatabiltiy with any other versions of xbox one.If you are having an issue getting the ribbon back on the front panel just remove the top of the case from the front plate. Then put the bottom of the front plate into the groove on the bottom plate first then clip your cable back into place. Now just make sure when you are clicking the top panel into place that you click the front panel side into place first. Then click top panel into place on the other sides and you're good.I think the whole thing took me about an hour and that is only becuase I forgot to reconnect the sata and power cables back into the drive so i had to reopen the case lol.

The drive is missing the big ribbon cable and the only way to swap them is to remove the laser completely from the new unit and old unit. Item was also missing the 3 mounting screws and makes a loud grinding noise when sliding on the track. Will be returning this junk.

Package came very well sealed and in good condition. Only downside was did not solve the problems I was having with my Xbox. Could’ve been user error, could be a faulty product.

Installed in original FAT Xbox One. Came with everything needed but needed to transplant one ribbon and the 3 rubber pads from the old drive to the new laser carrier.

I returned it. Just buy a drive and soilder

Worked like a charm to fix xbox one no longer reading discs consistently. Pretty easy swap but you will need to move some ribbon cables and transfer a couple screw mounts. Watch some youtube videos.

This was a replacement for my xbox one x. The drive was only reading certain games, & not others. I'm glad this option was available. It was very easy to replace, and all games are being read now. It also came fast, & packaged well. I will be purchasing again, as I have an original xbox one that won't read the Blu-ray discs. I will update if there are any problems, as today is day two of using it.

Works good. Easy installation drop in and connect everything screw it down and all good to go. Installed/ replaced in Xbox one x dvd drive

Ordered and sent back 3 of these drives and all do not work. My original drive can read some disks but all 3 of the drives I have received cannot read anything. The last one I got had hair and scratches on it so it is obviously a used drive.
