Let's Do Nothing!

Sweet book, brand new condition!
I purchased this for my 3 1/2 year old neice, having never heard of or read it myself. It came up, and I thought the title and description sounded quite sweet. Such a sweet children's story, came in mint comdition, cannot beat the price for a children's book, just so pleased!

Fantastic story with a ring of familiarity
Had to write because we've had this book for a few months, and our 3-year-old LOVES it. I'm sad that we haven't found any more books by this author, because this one is funny even for parents. You can see the whole story from the other reviewers, but I think what's best about it is just how engaging it is for kids even after the story has been read and put away. Sometimes my son will come up and say "hi, Sal" and I know that's the cue to say "hi, Frankie". Other times I'll joke with him and say "Let's do nothing" and he'll say "no, let's do something!" Wow! I think that's the highest compliment for a book: when a toddler wants to be a character from the book.

I loved this book
I loved this book! I taught 2nd grade and we read it to our students when we were teaching writing and how during writing to just write what came to their minds. They can edit later. This helped my students that just sat the whole time "thinking" about what they were going to do. My daughter loves this book as well, so it is good for home too!

Recommended to introduce ways to be silent and respectful while ...
I used this book in a first grade classroom to practice doing nothing after benchmark testing. I created a board game for it as well, we charted ideas of how we could "do nothing" so we wouldn't disturb others. Recommended to introduce ways to be silent and respectful while others finish testing.

entertaining, amusing, delightful
This is one of the best children's books I have seen in a while. Clever text and humorous illustrations are sure to entertain children and adults. As a speech-language pathologist, children's books are a staple of my practice. This book is an excellent addition to my collection and I've already recommended it to many of my colleagues.

Let's Do Nothing!
This is a really great book! Two boys, having exhausted every game and toy they have, decide to do nothing for a minute. This leads to them finding it really difficult, so pretending to be something very still, like a tree or a statue. One boy is distracted by his imagination - so when he is a statue, for example, he imagines pigeons alighting on his head. The illustrations are absolutely brilliant and I especially enjoyed one boy pretending to be the Empire State Building and then imagining King Kong climbing up the side of him to steal his glasses. Eventually, they realise that they can't do nothing and run off again to do SOMETHING! Lovely story, my little boy thinks it is wonderful and it really makes him laugh. I would recommend it for 3-6 years.
