Unbelievable, transformative upgrade. Seller's claims are not hyperbole.
Has anyone seen those dubious 'military grade' torch ads online where the flashlight is so bright it appears to burn holes in things as if a laser beam? I couldn't believe that this upgrade would be so bright as was implied, but after a nasty fall outside in the dark (with my old halogen Maglite in hand) I went looking for a new LED torch so that I could see obstacles right in front of me. When I saw this, and that it wasn't going to burn a hole in my wallet, I thought well there'll be time enough before my next night-time trip out if it doesn't make much of a difference. OMG it's like replacing one of those old 1970s dim bicycle lights for a modern car headlamp! Bright, blue-white light, and focused beam way out ahead so I can see the path ahead in the distance. Used at home, the whole room is lit up, no danger of tripping, or not finding what you've lost. Like something out of a movie. Jimmy Stewart could have used it instead of his camera flashbulbs against Raymond Burr! Suffice to say I don't need a new torch after all, because I've now 'got' one. Amazing.

Brilliant upgrade.
Bought this for an incandescent camo Maglite AA I'd recently purchased. It consists of two parts ie the LED assembly and a dedicated reflector. Fitting is easy which is just as well because there no instructions. The procedure is as follows. First you unscrew the head and remove the original reflector and bulb. Then place the LED assembly pins in the torch pin socket where the original bulb was . Then fit the new reflector over it. And finally screw the head back on.In use the LED assembly is MUCH brighter than the original bulb . It also produces a nice slightly warm white light with a nice circular beam and spot. There's no sign of any dirty green or purple colour casts. And unlike others it remains cool even with extended use. It is brighter than the Maglite AA LED Pro PlusThis is an excellent value for money upgrade and will rejuvenate any incandescent Maglite AA torch.Recommended

Great conversion to an old faithful
The only bugbear I have is the lack of instructions. Whilst this is not a technically challenging upgrade you need to be made aware that you must connect the led the right way round as polarity is important, otherwise it will not work. If you know this simple fact then you’ll know that if the led doesn’t work initially then the solution is switch the connection around by 180 degrees.

A very good conversion to LED
A very good conversion to LED.Most torches don't do conversions but Maglite do.It is simple to fix and the britness of the converted torch is amazing. I couldn't believe it. It is so bright and the battery seems to last forever. I have 2 Maglite AAs converted but have not had to use the second yet. I converted the 2 about 3 months ago.

Finally, what I've been looking for
Not all Maglite upgrades are equal! This one is worth purchasing as opposed to spending £40 for a new LED Maglite. This bulb ran on full power for nearly three hours until the light was becoming noticeably dimmer. Retains a good gradient between a focused and a more spread-out beam. Perhaps equally importantly, it did not overheat during this time. I can only presume economy mode would last about 9 hours, based on 1/3 output.A previous 'upgrade' had no focus; the end was liable to come off; and after a few minutes it had a red-hot main body! This kit has none of those issues.TorchUpgrades are really helpful and informed, and supplied a great product. Hat's off to them.

Amazingly Bright
Just slotted straight into my Maglite AA and the brightness is amazing compared with the old style bulb

Transformational, just what I've been looking for.
Does what it says. A direct replacement for the tungsten lamp and it's mounting in my Mini-Maglite so I now have a very bright torch compared to what increasingly seemed a feeble device, although good in it's day. The fibre optic attachment is now almost useful!

Good replacement for old filament lamp.
Didn't like the price - expensive. Liked the ease with which it replaced old filament lamp. It works as expected.
