Still figuring out the right amount to put in my hair & which products to use with but I feel like I’ve just about nailed. I have medium-fine loose curls, probably 2B-C. Honestly it just depends on the day/humidity to result in tighter or looser curls. I used a quarter & a half amount and next time will just use a quarter sized amount as I do feel like that was too generous. My hair is usually very frizzy & demands extra moisture. This definitely gave me the extra moisture, made my curls nice and plump and reduced my frizz dramatically even though it was raining and an extremely humid day. Pleasantly surprised to say the least and will definitely continue to invest in this product. With soaking wet hair, I use a tiny bit of leave-in conditioner, followed by the balm & scrunched it in to distribute it evenly, then raked through with my fingers to detangle. I followed up with a medium hold gel and then plopped in a microfiber towel. once my hair was 80% dry I broke the curl cast with a bit of oil and let it be until fully dry. The texture is very rich and as you scrunch into your wet hair it begins to lather up and spreads evenly. My hair took about an extra hour to dry, but that’s probably a good sign as it means my hair was retaining more moisture. I did notice that it weighed my hair down just a tad, but that was easily fixed by finger curling some of the pieces that fell a bit flat. The extra moisture, definition, and frizz control are definitely worth the minute it took to finger curl a couple pieces. All in all, I highly recommend this, especially to the frizzy / high porosity crowd. Attached is the result of my last wash with the routine I described. *****UPDATE: I did use less balm & in the 2nd pic is my hair with leave-in, balm, and mousse instead of hair gel. I noticed my curls feeling weighed down and using the mousse fixed that + gave me bouncier/tighter curls. It’s definitely a process finding the right routine, but I hope this helps🫶

I have used this product for a year. The hold is minimal. I like the size. It works for my wavy hair. It’s great for travel.

MY GOODNESS. I have never had a curl cream that worked THIS well. I wish I had recorded my hair when applying this wet. This is a MIRACLE PRODUCT. For $27, I have a leave in, curl cream, pomade, edge control, and gel all in one. I have low porosity, fine strands, medium/high density 4b-c hair for reference. After rinsing out my deep conditioner (Melanin Haircare Plumping DC) in the shower, all I did was apply this product on my wet hair in the shower, and I brushed through the sections with my denman brush to distribute it. When I got out, I added a little more to my soaking wet hair and did twists all around. I used this product to lay my edges. No leave in conditioner added, not even gel for my edges. When I woke up, I took them out and they came out like this!!!! I have never had a product work THIS good in my hair. Even Prose that was formulated for my specific hair didnt do this! Even when my hair was soaking wet, I was SHOCKED upon application. I was seeing curls that I have never EVER seen in my head from my past 10 years of being natural. Since my BIG CHOP! I have never seen my hair do what it did. And when I finished undoing my twists, I literally used a little of the balm/styling cream to coil little frizzy pieces with my finger and THEY STAYED THERE— PUT! No shrinking back like any other gel would do. My edges STAYED laid from the night before. No flaky gel cast, no oily fingers but dry hair when i touch my hair… CurlSmith has found a lifelong customer in me. I can literally shampoo, condition, and then use 1 product to style! It was dry by the morning…no lco, no loc, i didnt even need to add oil. just this product. This is officially my new staple; I cannot live without it. I am now super excited to try more of their products!

Bottle didn’t have its cap; only the seal, which is why I gave it 4 stars. I like the product, but the cap is necessary. I can use my old cap but it’s nice to have new one that’s not gunked up. This product keeps my curls hydrated and shiny.

I normally use the orange bottle from Curlsmith- the air dry cream. This was pretty good. The scent is very light. I really liked this cream in my hair. Very light and no crunch!

I feel like this is probably a good product, but the scent is so gross. It reminds me of cherry cough drops. I love the scent of the Weightless Air Dry Cream, so this one was disappointing. I should probably try it again, but the scent doesn't dissipate quickly. Sadly, the scent of the Weightless Air Dry Cream doesn't last, and I wish it did.

This stuff is great! Not only does it do a great job keeping my relatively short hair tamed and neat with no frizz and nice texture, it also hydrates my hair nicely. On days I don't have to slick my hair into a part, I just work a bit of this stuff into my hair after a shower and it looks very reasonable and presentable for the whole day. It's quite a light hold, mind you. Its not for forcing your hair into any particular shape it doesn't naturally want to be in, it's for making sure that your curly hair doesn't start looking like you've recently spent time with your fingers in an electrical socket.

I think a lot of the negative reviews come from people who don't understand the purpose of this product. Nowhere on the bottle does it say it is an anti-frizz product... because it isn't. This is a soft hold balm, and in general the softer the hold the more frizz you'll have. Though you will get a bit more frizz than with products with stronger holds, in exchange you receive hair that looks sooo effortless. I have 3A-3B hair, and I find that most products will give me those really shiny, crunchy ringlets which are just not my vibe at all. This balm defines my curls and gives them some shine without making it look like I'm wearing a wig. It's also very weightless! My least favorite thing about curl creams and gels is that they tend to make your hair look really weighed down and stiff, whereas the soft hold here makes my hair feel so light and bouncy, and it actually moves when the breeze hits it lol. Additionally, the softer hold means your hair will look fuller since it isn't being condensed into so many tight curls! If you want to embrace that ethereal natural mane look, this is the one for you! This formula is truly beautiful.

Brilliant product I love the smell and it help curls my hair .. doesnt help produce a tight curl though for that you would need moose or gel.

Super stuff! Really easy to use and creates a great hold without being as crispy as gels. After air drying hair has volume and bounce. And what a great offer!

It had the seal to protect the product inside, which i find really important when buying skincare and hair products from amazon. It came in good conditions too. The packaging is still the older one, not the one on the image (which i like best so... no worries!). Recommend!
