It is the turn of the Tenth Doctor in this humorous crossover series as Dr. Tenth does what the Doctor does best and attempts to save a world from alien invasion.The Mr. Men treatment of the Tenth Doctor is quite a good caricature, grasping the gist of his manic nature and moral stance. Of course, unlike the other Dr. Men, this is the second outing for Dr. Tenth as he previously appeared in a Christmas special of this series.This time none of his companions make an appearance. Instead the Doctor virtually adopts a Sontaran to fulfil the ‘companion’ role. This works very well as the xenophobic, martial Staal and the friendly, peace seeking Doctor must work together on their adventure, with amusing consequences.The physical appearance of the Sontarans, probably more than any other Doctor Who monsters/aliens, lend themselves fantastically to be converted into Mr. Men form. We are, perhaps, even given a little insight into Sontaran motivations??? It all makes for a fun little story.
